When Charlotte and I arrived home, she remembered something, "Do you mind picking up the mail? I completely spaced it for the past week."
"Sure," I said as I walked back out the door. Once I retrieved the envelopes, I began looking through them as I walked back to the apartment. The stack became heavier since we skipped a week of picking up the mail. When the small envelopes were out of the way, my eyes widened as I began sprinting back to the apartment. "Charlotte! Babe!"
"Yeah?" Charlotte said, running out of the bedroom slightly startled.
I held up the big packets of papers, "The three colleges all want to take me in!"
"What?" Charlotte asked, smiling widely with disbelief.
"Yeah. Remember? I sent in all three applications back in November and December!"
Charlotte ran over to me, wrapping her arms around my body, "I'm so proud of you." I felt her pick me up and spin me around. I was laughing before she placed me back on my feet.
"There's just one small problem? I don't know which to accept."
"Well, you don't need to make a final decision until the end of April, the latest," Charlotte said, reassuring my worry. "We can sit down and discuss your options."
"Maybe later tonight. I do have homework to do, and I don't want to forget that."
Charlotte nodded, and I placed the envelopes on the living room table. Her arms went around my waist from behind and kissed my shoulder. "I'm so proud of you. You're doing very well, and I can't wait to see your progress."
"Thank you."

That night we had all three options laid out on the bed as I sat in the middle of the mattress staring at them. The bed dipped, and Charlotte joined me. I leaned against her and let out a long sigh.
"Okay, what have you gotten out of the three colleges?"
"Well, two are in California, while the other is here in Seattle. If I choose Los Angeles, I'd be staying in a dorm, and I'll be away from you. If I choose San Diego, I can live you Tim, otherwise Emily. It will still be a long-distance relationship with you, though. Finally, going to the University of Washington, we can continue to live together, and I'll be close to my parents and Amber," I sighed. "I don't know. They're all excellent, and I applied to multiple if I didn't get accepted here.
"So, you're accepted in all three. There's no need to rush a decision. I will be happy for you no matter where you choose to go. I don't want to sway your decision."
"But sometimes I want you to. I feel like I want to stay here. I think I know I want to stay here, but I'm happy that I was capable of getting accepted into all three colleges. I also wanted to talk to you about my options before I choose one for sure."
Charlotte tightened her grip around me. "I appreciate that you wanted to consider us in your choice."
"Of course I do. You are who I'm married to, and you have the right to know my future routes."
She nodded, "Thank you."
I stared at the packets again and looked at all the sorted papers with its colors.
