Graduation! It's happening!

I'm in our bedroom looking for a dress that I could wear underneath my gown. One that isn't too long. Maybe one with pockets? How am I supposed to find my family if I can't hold my phone? Guys are lucky they can wear pants and have their phones with them. Girls. We're wearing dresses, and unlike some, I'm not placing my phone in my bra.

"Having trouble picking out something to wear?" I heard from the restroom door.

Charlotte was standing at the door frame, looking at me rummaging through the closet.

"I need pockets."

"Put it in your bra," she said.

"I don't want to, and unlike you, I'm a 32," I said.

"My size isn't that different," she said.

I gave her a look of disbelief. I pointed to hers and mine, "Says the woman who wears a 36. Also, your cup size is one up from mine."

"Okay, fine. I can hold your phone for you," Charlotte chuckled.

"You know how crowded the graduation stadium is going to be? I can't find people. They should have designed these gowns with pockets. To this day, society hasn't thought about it?"

"Because they don't want everyone to be texting during the ceremony," she said.

"I understand that," I said.

"Don't you have a dress with pockets?"

"I'm trying to find it," I said, going over the number of clothes for the tenth time.

Charlotte walked over to me, "What color is this dress?"

"Red," I said.

Charlotte looked at the closet for a few seconds and then pulled out a red dress.

"How do you find things on the first try?" I asked, looking at the exact dress that I described to her.

"You have a lot of stress right now, I understand. Now, change, and get ready. Your parents are going to pick you up and drive you to the stadium. I'll be there with Avery, Tim, and my mom in a bit. I'm taking my car, so everyone doesn't have to run back and forth between houses," Charlotte said, pushing me towards the restroom.

I walked out half-an-hour later with my make-up done and the dress on. I looked at the cap, gown, and tassel laid out on the bed for me. I smiled as I put it on over my dress, happy that the dress I wore doesn't go beyond my silver gown's length.

I walked out of the bedroom, and my parents are sitting on the couch with Charlotte.

"Honey, you look great," my mom smiled.

"Really? It feels weird," I said. "At least the gown is shiny."

"Okay, let's go to the stadium!" My dad clapped his hands together happily.

I grabbed my phone, and Charlotte stopped me before I could walk out the door.

"Remember to breathe. The next time I see you, you'll be receiving your diploma in front of your class and your family."

I nodded, and she kissed my lips. Then I got into my parents' car, sitting anxiously with my cap and tassel in my hand, waiting for our arrival.

Once we got there, I split ways with my parents, and I found Amber by the entrance. I ran up to hug her tightly. We joined Shay, Mariah, Aaron, and Lucas near the door and smiled at each other.
