Chapter 8: A Promise

One day after attack Beta Liam of the FireFlame Pack arrived at the BlackCurrent Pack with an apology letter that had a stamp by Alpha Eric and heavy gifts as token of friendship. He also gave him the dinner invitation and offered a stay in the palace to enjoy the perks of the FunFair as long as they wish.

He also gave Alpha Orton the investigation report of the attack that had detailed description in it. At the same time a messenger from Livana arrived with a letter that explained attack details and attackers proven to be Satan Worshipper. She also said FireFlame Pack was innocent and treated them extremely well.

But Alpha Orton's expressions were hard to read for Liam. He couldn't predict if he would reply positively or not. Fear crept in Alpha Orton's heart. He decided to seek an apology to Satan but by doing so he will ruin his second chance given by Moon Goddess.

After giving it a thought he remembered about the great stories of the Moon Goddess temple in the FireFlame Pack. He also heard about Luna Pearl being the greatest witch from the tribe of Levi. Levi was a blessed tribe.

Glimpse of hope arose in his heart. If he could worship Moon Goddess there and inquire of the Goddess through Luna Pearl about his daughter's safety then maybe he had a chance against satan because no power was greater than that of the Moon Goddess.

He looked up at Liam from the letter in his hands and replied, "I had summoned The Ark Of Trinity. Now whatever happens will happen in it's presence. I accept your Alpha's invitation and will send it now to The Trinity. I want them to intercede between us for peace. I will soon arrive there with the alliance of 3 judges."

At these words Liam's face hardened. He didn't expect Trinity's involvement will be requested by Alpha Orton. However, he replied, "I will inform my Alpha with a messenger about this and let you know his response at earliest."

Alpha Orton offered Liam and his men best luxuries of his Pack for his period of stay. Next day when Liam got a message of approval of request from Alpha Eric he immediately informed Alpha Orton about it. Alpha agreed and asked Nefretis to prepare for their departure next morning.

Alpha wanted to know more about powers of Luna Pearl and the temple. Recently there were many people praising this temple and saying that the presence of the Goddess was truly there as all their wishes came true.

"Nefretis will you ask Liam to join us for the dinner at the palace tonight?" Alpha asked her and she nodded.

Outside Liam's room...

Nefretis patiently waited for Liam to come out. She was lately busy to manage all the activities in the Pack due to absence of Luna and Beta. So she didn't go to receive Liam or meet him even once.

"I'm ready. Shall we leave?" said Liam coming out of the door and looking at her back.

There was no one here for now. She immediately turned around and was stunned. When Liam saw her his pupil dilated and his wolf took over him and responded, "Mate"

He immediately rushed to her and pulled her in his arms. She was not a wolf but a witch. She didn't believe that this man took her heart the moment she saw him. They both without wasting anymore time kissed the life out of each other.

At the FireFlame Pack...

"I wonder what bring so much hatred in the hearts of these young men against Goddess to support the evil?" Luna Sittandra spoke with distress.

"It is our longings that drives us beyond the precipice of what's possible but it is we who choose to be driven there either by good means or evil means. As a consequence to those choices our fate and the results are defined." said Luna Pearl with a blank expression staring out of the window.

Sittandra looked at her and sighed, "I'm so sorry sister I can't even imagine what you must be going through to watch your child constantly in danger. But don't worry we all will protect our children until our last breath."

Pearl turned her head towards her and smiled but it died out before it reached her eyes.

Just then Ruth came in and said, "All arrangements are done. We must leave now before it's too late."

Ruth and Sittandra took their veils and covered their heads through it. They were all supposed to travel in disguise like foreigners. But Pearl didn't move. They tried to convince her but she said, "My instincts have always guided me sisters. Today it is telling me not to go. I don't know why but I can't go now."

Then she immediately turned towards Sittandra, held her hands and said, "Sittandra look at me. Please promise me that you will take care of my daughter like your own? If ever anything happens to me then you will become the mother she lost?"

"Of course I always will Pearl! Don't worry about it and please don't say things like something will happen to you and all!" Sittandra spoke with her moist eyes.

Pearl thanked her and hugged her. Then she immediately turned towards Ruth and asked her, "Ruth promise me you will always be my daughter's protector? You will protect her and teach her how to protect herself. Will you?"

Ruth replied,"What an honor it is for me Luna! I'll always do that and you will be around to watch it. Come with us Luna."

"No my dear. I have to stay. You all must leave now." she insisted.

"Mommy!" came running a precious little 12year old girl. Pearl immediately bent down and hugged her tightly to her chest.

"Mommy! Papa said we are going to uncle Alex's home! There are many toys for me there! Is that true?" Phoebe said excitedly.

"Yes sweetheart there are many. But you will get them only if you promise me to not trouble Aunty Sittandra and Aunty Ruth? If you do as they say and obey them always then they will give you all those things you want!" she said cheerfully.

"Really?" Little girl's eyes widened with surprise. She continued, "Promise!"

Ruth and Sittandra sobbed looking at them. Pearl hugged her daughter Phoebe one last time and then they all left through the secret underground door inside the palace. They were dressed in regular clothing like normal people so that to their entire journey no one would suspect them.

Alpha Eric's parents, Pheobe, Ruth, Luna Sittandra and her son Derek left the palace. Ruth guided them through the underground tunnel road and they safely reached out of FireFlame Pack territory. Simon met them there and from there they moved forward in their journey to the NewMoon Pack.
