chapter six

Kairi

I woke up in an unfamiliar bed and began panicking.

Then I remembered what happened last night and calmed down, but still felt anxious.

Was it wrong of me to trust a stranger so easily? I mean, sure Mattia seemed like a genuinely nice person who is just trying to help me out, but at the same time I feel like I'm being too trusting towards him.

Maybe if I knew more about him, other than just his name and age I'd be less worried about befriending him.

I slowly got out of bed, going to the door. I opened it, looking out into the hallway. It was fairly long and had multiple doors on either side, but the door that caught my attention was the one at the very end of the hall.

It was black and looked larger than the other basic doors.

I felt tempted to know what was on the other side, but I didn't want to invade Mattia's privacy.

I walked down the corridor, going down the stairs and into the kitchen. I expected Mattia to be in there, but he wasn't.

I walked up to the counter, seeing a note.

Went to take care of something with Alejandro. I'll be back later tonight. You can have friends over, but not too much people.
Here's my number in case if an emergency.

I placed the note back down taking out my phone to add Mattia's contact. Once it's in my phone, I scroll down a bit to find Alvaro's number. Clicking on the contact, it rings a couple of times before he answers.

"Why are you calling me at eight am? It better be good or else I'm slaughtering you and you're collection of stuffed animals." Alvaro grumbled into the phone.

"Uh, good morning to you too bestest friend in the entire world." I said, giggling a bit.

"What do you want, Kairi?" Alv asks, with slightly less attitude.

"I'm sending you an address, I want you to come over." I say, sharing my location with him.

There was a minute of silence as Alvaro received my message, looking over it.

"Ah hell nah, are you trying to lure me into being murdered. Why are you in a whole other town bitch?" He asked, making his voice dramatic.

"I'll explain when you get here, just come. I'm alone, so you don't have to worry for now."

"For now?"

"Yeah, well Mattia said he'll be back later tonight so-"

"And who the fuck is Mattia?"

"If you come over, I'll explain everything to you. Just no questions, come right now. Bye." I said sternly.

Then I felt bad and spoke up again.

"Please come, Alv. Love you, see you soon." I said in a softer tone, hanging up before he could start an argument.

"What the fuck do you mean you're living here now?!" Alvaro shouted after I was done explaining the situation.

"I mean, Mattia offered me a place to stay at and I agreed. I mean, being in that house was suffocating. It felt like my own personal hell. At least here, I have some company and he basically has been letting me do what I want so, it's like living with a roommate."
