I came home later than I expected.

It was almost midnight and I knew that Kairi would already be asleep. I entered our house, being cautiously quiet in case he really was sleeping.

I walked into the living room, seeing Kai asleep on the couch.

My heart melted, my insides turning to mush.

He looked so adorable, it was almost unreal.

I took the remote, shutting off the tv that was playing in the background. I bent down, scooping up Kairi's tiny body in my arms.

He stirred, slightly waking up as I walked up the stairs with him.

"Mm, you're home?" He muttered, very sleepily.

"Yeah, just got back." I whispered, going into my room. I placed Kairi down on the bed, stripping out of my clothes before joining him.

He instinctively curled into my side, draping his legs over mine.

I smiled, getting comfortable and wrapping my arms around him to pull him closer.

"Goodnight, carino."
