chapter sixteen

Five days later...

Kairi

"Pack a suitcase, I'm taking you to Sicily." Mattia said, barging into my room. I paused my show, looking at him as if he were crazy. Mattia smiled, showing me that he was serious.

"What!" I practically screamed. I got up, running to hug him. "We're leaving in the morning, get ready." He said, pulling away.

He left me to pack, going back to his office.

Omniscient

The pair were at the airport, currently boarding Mattia's private jet.

Alejandro and Roshaun were already on the plane waiting for Kairi and Mattia to arrive.

Mattia lead Kairi to the seating area where Ale and Roshaun were sitting. "Finally you guys are here! We were supposed to leave 20 minutes ago!" Alejandro exclaimed as they took their seats.

"Sorry, I overslept." Kairi mumbled shyly as Mattia buckled him up.

"Of course it was your fault." Roshaun muttered under his breath, rolling his eyes.

"Watch your attitude." Mattia warned, glaring at Roshaun. The latter only sighed, turning his attention to his phone.

"Mattia, I'm sleepy and this chair is uncomfortable." Kairi whispered, tugging on the elder's sleeve.

"Come on, I'll show you to the lounge. There's a bed there." Mattia said, taking Kairi's hand to lead him to the back.

There was a velvet curtain separating the back room from the rest of the plane. Mattia pushed the fabric aside, letting Kairi in. The room was pretty small and had only a single bed in the middle and a couch beside it.

"Ugh, yes." Kairi said, falling onto the bed with his eyes closed. Mattia smiled, going to the couch and getting comfortable.

Well, as comfortable as you can get on a tiny couch.

"Goodnight, Tia. I love you." Kairi mumbled, snoring lightly.

Mattia looked over at the boy, hesitating before answering.

"I love you too."
