(Vol 1) Act 7

(Fall POV)

It's been a week sense that night with Ruby. In that week I think I've had more nightmares than usual. Weird. The team seems to like both RWBY and JNPR so that's good. The only thing that has me concerned right now is Jaune seems to have a made 'Friends' with Cardin. I've come to realize that it's Jaune's spirit is the reason that he got here. He's eager to learn and become a hero though Cardin certainly isn't the way forward. Pyrrah seems to be distant from him now which is also concerning. Perhaps I'll talk to him despite Pyrrha's wishes. I'm ripped from my thoughts before I turn the corner to go to my dorm. Ruby was standing in front of a very discouraged Jaune.

Ruby: "You're a leader now Jaune.  You're not allowed to be a failure."

Jaune: "But what if I'm a failure at being a leader?"

Ruby: "Nope."

She went over and sat beside him.

Jaune: "You know, you're not the easiest person to talk to about this kind of stuff."

Ruby: "Nope. Jaune maybe you were a failure when you were a kid."

Fall: "You might have been a failure the first day we met."

They both seemed startled by me when I turn the corner.

Jaune: "Can you please stop appearing out of nowhere."

Fall: "Nope."

Ruby looked back over at Jaune to continue the speech.

Ruby: "But you can't be one now. You know why?"

Jaune: "Because?"

Ruby: "Because it's not just about you anymore. You've got a team now Jaune. We both do and if we fail then we'll just bring them down with us. We have to put our teammates first (Ruby stands up) and ourselves second, your team deserves a great leader Jaune. I think that can be you."

Jaune stood up with a little more enthusiasm.

Fall: "I would add to that but I feel that Petal did a damn fine job with that speech."

Jaune: "Petal?"

Jaune looked at both me and Ruby. Ruby blushed and started to scratch the back of her neck nervously.

Fall: "No, Jaune."

Jaune: "Oh, okay I thought for a second..."

A beeping from his pocket interrupts him.

Jaune: "I've got to take this. Good night you two and thanks."

He waved at us and went down the hallway. I turn to Ruby.

Fall: "You did one hell of a job with that speech. Good to know that your growing."

Ruby: "Well, I do have one the best teachers."

Fall: "Port?"

She laughed and playfully hit me and I couldn't help but chuckle. 

Ruby: "I guess you're going to your dorm now."

Fall: "Yeah, I don't want to disturb you or your team before your expedition."

Ruby: "Goodnight."

Fall: "Goodnight."

With that we both went to our dorms. I opened the door and to my surprise it's rather calm.

Fall: "Okay, who died?"

JD: (groaning) "Our tomorrow off."

Raiden: "Oz stopped by to inform us that we're running an exterminate op in the Forever Fall forest. Very early tomorrow morning."
