Ok so

I was just thinking about the S.E. Hinton books I've read cuz I'm a fucking nerd rite

So I've read four of them including:
-The Outsiders
-That Was Then This Is Now
-Rumble Fish
-Tex

And a pattern I've picked up on is that the main characters have issues with their parents.

Every single one of them

In the outsiders, we all know the parents are dead

In that was then this is now, I'm not totally positive what the family situation is there. It's been awhile since I've read it. But I'm pretty sure they only have a mom present?? Correct me if I'm wrong??

In Rumble Fish, the mom isn't there and the dad is an alcoholic 🙈

In Tex the dad isn't there most of the time, and the mom is dead.

Dawg I'm just wondering like 👁👁 since this is reoccurring did Hinton have family problems or did she just like writing abt them? Idk it's late and I'm tired. I'm probably thinking too hard.
