The Arrangement(ON HOLD)

Chapter 5

I wait for Cole at Caffeinated while waiting I order for a Cappuccino and chocolate chip cookies. This is the first thing I'm eating today.

I sip on my Cappuccino while waiting.

My phone rings. It's from Cole and I pick it.

"Where are you Lila?I'm at Caffeinated and I can't see you there.I'm at our booth and I can't find you there."Cole asks.

"I'm coming." I pick my bag and run out to Cole. I hug him and cry into his chest. I don't know what I will do without Cole he's been my rock since forever. But I don't want to ruin my friendship with him because of some stupid and dumb arranged marriage.

Cole pats my back and head.
I jab on his stomach and he winces in pain.
"Tf was that for Lila ?"he glares at me.
"Are you asking me that I've told you it's fucking weird when someone pats me and never ever touch my hair. "I never let people touch my hair.

He laughs while holding his stomach.

Ok I'm creeped out right now. "Cole what cheap drug are you high on??"

"Only you Lila,only you."

"Get in the car and fill me in on the details about your arranged marriage."

I get into the passenger's seat and then it hits me Cole said he had good news earlier today and I didn't bother asking him about it. What a best friend I am.

"Hey Cole, what was the good news you had wanted to tell me this morning."

"Ohhh that, well I kinda proposed to Ally and she said Yes."Cole said while grinning.

"Don't tear your mouth Cole.
But heyyyyyy my best friend is an engaged man. Alissa is so lucky."

Then the realization dawns upon me. Cole's dad doesn't approve of his relationship with Alissa I guess that's why they arranged a marriage for Cole and I.

"I'm happy for you. I smiled at him."

"Yeah but let's talk about you.
Do you have any idea who your husband is going to be? I'm sure you have a clue or something." Cole stares at me.

"Cole I don't have any clue of who it is. Now don't bug me and pay attention to Juice wrld."

We are vibing to Juice wrld's Who Shot Cupid and I try to take my mind off my present issues and focus on the message Juice is trying to pass through the lyrics.

We get to my house and I'm about to get down when Cole pulls me back by my hair.

"Ouchh you dick". I used my bag to slap him.

"What's your decision? Are you going to get married or go against your Dad?"Cole asks.

"I don't know." I shrug.

"Well whatever decision you make, you know I'll support you, right. "

Little does he know he wouldn't support me in this matter at hand.

I nodded.

"Good night Cole."

"Good night Lila."

I walk into my house thankfully there is no one around to ask me questions.

"Lila!!! "Guess I spoke too soon.

I turned around and stared at my Dad, I wonder when he became emotionless overnight.

"What's your decision Lila?"He questions me.

"Dad please can we talk about this tomorrow."

"Tomorrow he slightly raised his voice, I gave you two hours,two hours Lila and it has been more than 7 hours and you've not made your decision yet and now you're telling me tomorrow. Don't feed me with rubbish okay."

"I'm sorry I left work early but I have not made my decision yet. And since you are not telling me who I'm getting married to then
I can't make a decision. "

"It's not Cole."Dad mumbled.

"Say what now."My jaw dropped.
"It's not Alex is it or is it Samuel." Yh I forgot the 2nd Grey son. They are 3 children; Alex, Samuel and Cole.

"I can't tell you that and I want that answer by tomorrow."He passed by my side.

I squealed internally I'm not a home wrecker.

I thought while going upset I already made up my mind I want my freedom. But I'm not going to tell Dad that.

I open the door to my room and close it immediately.

I take off my shoes,drop my bag and go into the shower.

After 15 minutes in the shower, I pick one of my mom's old sweatpants and a big  t_shirt to wear.

Tomorrow I will give Dad my answer to this question.
