It had been two weeks since Charlotte had met the coven properly. Esme and Carlisle had invited the girl to stay at their home but she had declined; Charlotte enjoyed her personal time, and she also had a safe full of secrets - just like that small girl's portrait from art class.

Alice, Charlotte and Rosalie often hung out after school. They did stereotypical teen girl things: painting their nails, doing each others hair, an occasionally 'sleepover', and spoke about boys (only Jasper and Emmett, but Alice was acting as if she knew something they didn't). As well as the girls, Charlotte had been spending time with the others. All except Edward Cullen. He was always 'too busy' or watching Bella sleep. Whilst she agreed with Emmett that he was acting like a 'psychotic stalker', she found herself getting jealous of a simple human girl.
Since when had she developed feelings for the bronze-haired boy?

It was a normal lunchtime when Alice Cullen approached the lunch table, basically buzzing in her place. "There's a thunder storm coming tonight!" Her voice was high-pitched and Charlotte found herself moving her head away from the pixie. "What's so special about it?" She asked, nibbling on the food that the Cullens' had bought, considering she was the only one that didn't mind eating food. Emmett decided to add his sarcasm to the conversation, "You know, just a huge supernatural game of baseball banter," he told the demon girl, resulting in Charlotte sticking out her tongue. "Honestly, you both act like five-year-olds!" Rosalie huffed out.

Charlotte's gaze was drawn in by Edward approaching Bella Swan at the salad bar. "I don't understand what is so fascinating about the human girl to Edward. I get that she's his blood singer but that's not his true mate," Rosalie rants. Alice makes a noise of agreement but Charlotte chooses to ignore their comments. She remembers when he had ran away to Alaska and missed school; she later found out that Bella and Edward shared a gym class together which resulted in him nearly slaughtering the whole school.

Edward was talking to Bella about her theories for what he might be. "Um, well, bitten by a radio active spider?" Bella asked him. He smirked, shaking his head and replied with "Kryptonite doesn't bother me either." Charlotte laughed loudly and turned back to her table, "Doesn't Edward understand the difference between Spiderman and Batman?" Her comment had Jasper smiling through his blood lust, the pain was evident on his face but so far had managed with Alice around him. The bell sounded and after making arrangements that one of the Cullens' would pick Charlotte up at her house later, thy parted ways to their next lessons.

"What in the Heavens am I meant to wear?" Charlotte grumbled, standing in front of her wardrobe. Her phone dinged and she quickly checked it. A message from Alice described the outfit that Charlotte would later decide on; a light grey top with her leather jacket and a pair of black running leggings. The outfit accentuated her toned body and made her  stunning fiery red hair stand out. Her pale, smooth skin required no makeup and so she quickly pulled on a pair of running trainers; her favourite, most comfortable footwear.

Three knocks at her front door alerted her to the presence of a Cullen. She sniffed the air and instantly scowled at the scent of Edward Cullen. It was like warm vanilla and clean cotton but was now unfortunately mixed with the smell of Bella Swan. His constant night time visits were obviously starting to show through, and she couldn't begin to imagine the pain that Jasper would be going through every time he encountered Edward after his daily visits.

She pulled the door open and it revealed the one and only Edward Cullen. "Hey, Eddie," she greeted, smiling as an obvious look of discomfort and annoyance appeared on his face. Apparently Emmett and Jasper only been refer to him as 'Eddie' now. "Good evening Charlotte. Are you ready to go?" She nodded at his old gentleman etiquette and followed him out of the door. "Are you not going to lock it?" Edward asked, confused. "Oh, um, it's not actually my house. I'm just borrowing it for now," She told him, shrugging her shoulders at him. Edward hummed and nodded as he took in the information, before telling her to follow him.
