"Where am I?" Charlotte spoke out loud, scanning her surroundings confused. She was in a room, all white and smelt like hand sanitiser. A hospital. 'Is Bella okay?' she thought to herself, watching as people made their way throughout the building. "She's fine." Charlotte spun on the spot, coming face to face with none other than Edward Cullen. "Edward," she breathed out, accepting the hug he offered her. Their body temperatures collided and left Charlotte shivering in his embrace. "I got your note," Edward began, watching her closely. "Where did you go?" She shrugged her shoulders, relieved that she managed to get back to Earth with only a small gap of time missing. "Oh, you know. Just Hell," Charlotte brushed it off, as if it was the most casual thing, and for her it was.
Edward's eyebrows furrowed as he caught a glimpse into her mind, the previous conversation between her and Lucifer replaying. He cleared his throat, "So, um, the Devil thought my name was Edwin?"

"Hey Bella," Charlotte watched as the fragile human's eyes began fluttering, drifting in and out of consciousness. "What happened?" Her voice was scratchy and she offered Bella some water. "You were hit by a car. Charlotte's car, actually. You went to drop off some homework at her house but Charlotte was leaving for a family thing, so you decided to tag along, to see your mother in Phoenix, remember?" Edward watched as Bella's eyes began frantically scanning the room, hearing her heartbeat speed up as she realised it was just the three of them. And then realisation hit her...
"No. That man took me. He was telling me things. Things that made sense. You... You're both impossibly fast. And strong, like when you pushed me away from the truck." Bella stared at Charlotte, then back at Edward. "Your skin is pale white, and ice cold, but Charlotte's is always hot. Your eyes change colour: black, light brown, topaz, and sometimes you speak like - like you're from a different time. You barely eat or drink anything; and I know what you are, Edward. But I don't know what you are, Charlotte."
Bella's outburst caught both the vampire and demon off guard. Edward's eyes had become a pitch black as he turned to the fragile human, "Say it. Out loud." Bella cowered back in the uncomfortable hospital bed, but held a steady voice, "Vampire." Charlotte could only watch the events unfold in front of her. "Then ask me the most basic question: What do we eat?" Edward was staring at Bella so intensely, the demon feared that Bella would suffer a heart attack at the speed her heart was beating.
"Please Edward, save the dramatics for another time." Charlotte spoke up, watching as Bella opened her mouth to speak, "and I'm a demon, so if you tell anyone about us, I'll just steal your soul, and anyone that you tell."
And with that Bella fainted, her eyes rolling into the back of her head, her skin rivalling the colour of the two undead beings. A laugh at the door caught the pairs attention, and they found Emmett watching the scene from the doorway. "So, got a trip to Hell to tell me about Char?" Charlotte laughed, "I wouldn't dream of not telling you, Emmie."

Just under a month had gone past. Bella had been welcomed into the supernatural group, not out of choice, but to keep her from telling others. Rosalie and Charlotte both shared the same view that a human knowing their secrets was a danger, but at this stage nobody had a choice.
"So then," Bella started as she sat on Charlotte's bed. "Are you and Edward a couple?" Charlotte's expression became one of shock and Bella laughed at it. "We, um, haven't spoken about it," she answered quietly. Bella nodded as she listened, her cast rustling as she moved. "Well there is prom in a week and I assume you guys will be going together," Bella prompted, watching as Charlotte huffed, falling back against the pillows. "Maybe. Who are you going with?" Bella's smile expanded as she quickly grabbed her phone, turning it towards Charlotte. "Jacob Black. He's from the reservation." The boy had long, glossy hair in a pony tail, beautiful skin, and a hint of childish roundness to his chin. Charlotte nodded her head as she took in his appearance. "He's cute, a little young, but cute." Bella gasped playfully and laughed saying that the age gap was only two years apart.

Charlotte had been avoiding the Cullens', or more specifically, Edward Cullen. It was now biology and Charlotte was keeping her thoughts occupied with homework and other boring human tasks. Edward's eyes were constantly flickering between the demon and the teacher, trying to focus but her presence was pulling him away. "Stop looking at me, freak," Charlotte whispered harshly, watching as his face pulled into a small smile. "You do realise that we are both freaks, right?" She huffed in indignation, turning to him and flinched as the chair scraped against the floor. "What do you want ginger?" Edward made a face of shock as he whispered that is was 'actually bronze.' "I was wondering if you would like to attend prom with me?"
Charlotte blinked as she processed the information. The butterflies in her stomach were screaming to accept but another part was screaming against it. 'We're always watching,' was suddenly on repeat in her head, and she realised that it was fear that was stopping her from accepting. "You know, you shouldn't worry so much." Edward pulled her from her thoughts and she cursed herself for forgetting his mind reading talents. "So will you attend prom with me?" His hopeful face was enough to push her and shyly Charlotte whispered a small, "Yes."

A/N: Thank you all for reading, this chapter was just a short one for me to sort out the story line for the next chapter, so sorry for that.
I would like to continue Charlotte's story, so should I make a new book after this one is finished, or continue using this book for New Moon, etc.?
