Chapter 6
Friends
“Hope. Hope. Hope. Hope. Hope. Hope. Hope. Hope.” Someone chanted over and over while poking my cheek. I try to swat their hand away but they just start poking harder and faster than before, “HopeHopeHopeHopeHopeHopeHopeHope-“ I open one eye and find Liam in the bed beside me with a smile on his face.
“What?” I mutter half awake.
“Hi.”
I roll my eyes and sit up in bed when I realize something.
I turn to Liam, “It’s quiet. Too quiet.”
Liam jumps up from the bed and says happily, “Well, that’s because everyone is out doing whatever they do when they are out so you and I can have some time together since we really haven’t.”
I smile, “So what’s the plan?”
He shrugs, “I was just planning on watching a movie of something.”
“Sure.”
He hands me a steaming mug of tea off the night stand, “Drink your tea because you can never fully function without it and meet me in my room.” With that he skips out. No joke. He skipped. That boy has issues. I finish my tea and pull my hair up in a bun. After putting on some warm, fuzzy socks I head off to Liam’s room and find him in bed with a remote in his hand and his eyes focused on the TV. I walk over to him and crawl under the covers. After debating on what children’s movie to watch for 30 minutes we chose The Odd Life of Timothy Green. He buys the movie and just before it was going to begin I shiver and pull the covers up further. Man, it was cold in here.
“What’s wrong? Are you cold?” Liam asks.
“Yeah but, I mean, I’ll survive.” I say with a shrug.
“No,” He says getting up, “I’m getting you a blanket.”
“No, Liam its fine.” I protest.
He shrugs, “I have to make pop corn anyways.”
I sigh giving in, “Fine.”
Liam flashes a victorious smile before walking out. I roll my eyes, at least this time he didn’t skip.
He arrives a few minutes later with a big bowl of pop corn. He begins to lay down, “Liam?”
“Yes, Hope?”
I smirk, “My blanket.”
He gives a dramatic sigh a throws himself upright and says dramatically, “Gosh, Hope! You are so demanding!”
I roll my eyes, “Yeah sure.”
I sigh and scan the room in boredom. I then hear footsteps quickly coming down the hall way. Liam flies through the doorway with 5 blankets spread from hand to hand. He jumps on top of me flinging all the blankets on me while yelling, “PIGS IN A BLANKET!”
He wraps me up in them quickly. He rolls off me and I try to get the blankets off me. He smiles at me, “So, you ready to watch the movie?”
“Liam… I can’t move.” I say struggling to get out.
Liam pops a piece of popcorn in his mouth, “Well, I’d say you’re in a bit of a pickle now aren’t ya?”
I glare at him. “Liam, unwrap me!”
“Alright, alright, but again, Hope,” Liam looks at me, “Demanding.” He yanks the blankets and I fall of the bed.
We both laugh and I jump back up on the bed beside Liam. I get under the covers once more and snuggle into Liam’s chest. He puts his arm around me and puts his forehead to mine, “I missed you, Hope.”
I smile at him, “I missed you, too.”

Since Liam didn’t run his errands earlier in the day he had to do it later that night. I was sitting on the couch when the rest of the boys got back. As soon as they walk in I yell, “I’m hungry!”
Harry gives me an amused look, “I’ll make dinner.”
I jump up from the couch, “Thank you, Harrelah!”
Harry glares at me while walking into the kitchen, “Are you really hungry? ‘Cause if you are I’ll just make something quick.”
“I’m really hungry” I say pouting.
He laughs and starts making a salad I turn to find Louis sitting on the stool beside me, “When should Liam be back?”
Louis looks at his watch, “Any minute now actually.”
Harry sits my salad in front of me. I grab my fork and shove a mouthful into my mouth without a second thought. I swallow it and look down at my bowl before I take another bite. I freeze. Oh no. No no no no no no no no. I drop my fork and it clatters on the bowl causing all the boys to look at me, “Harry, what’s in this?”
“Um, lettuce, Italian dressing, baby tomatoes, onions, and almonds. Why?” He says walking closer to me.
Then it hits me. A warm rush goes through my body and I jump up in my seat. I begin looking around the room for my purse. “Hope what’s wrong?” Zayn says concerned for the first time. I begin coughing uncontrollably and I grip my throat. “Hope?!” Louis yells.
“I…. c-can’t……… breathe.” I manage to wheeze.
I get dizzy and fall to the floor. Just then the door opens. I look up and see Liam. His eyes widen as he puts the pieces together. He drops the bags he had in his hands, “Where is it?” My eyes move to my purse at his feet. His eyes follow my and dumps out its contents, “Zayn, call 911!”
Black spots cloud my vision and my eyes start to flutter shut. “Liam, Hurry!” Louis yells. Liam finds my epipen and runs over to me. I feel a sharp pain in my thigh, a cold rush go through my body, and my eyes shoot open to see Liam looking down at me. My head is in his lap and I manage to say hoarsely, “Thank you.”
He wipes the sweat off my forehead and cheeks and says, “Shh, it’s okay. It’s okay. It’s okay…” That's the last thing I hear before I descend into blackness.
