Cats and Boba

The next day was a Saturday. I slept in until around 11:00 AM and stayed up most of the night, coughing up petals every once in awhile. Midoriya snuck out of his dorm after hours and came to mine, staying there and helping me through the night. He explained that the first couple nights are really hard and he would try to help. When I showed him my bloody knuckles from my previous breakdown, he helped unwrap and rewrap them throughout the night when they bled through the gauze. It hurt really bad but I knew I would have to deal with it. In the morning, he was sprawled out across the floor, (which he insisted to sleep on) with the blanket and pillow I lent him far from where he was actually sleeping. I smiled softly and nudged his arm with my foot.

"Midoriya, it's like, almost 12:00-" I smiled, stretching back against the wall.

"Mhhh..." He groaned before sitting up, looking dazed. Midoriya's hair was really messy normally, but when he'd just woke up it looked like a green hurricane. I stifled a laugh. "What!?" He grunted, his eyes narrowing at me.

"Your hair-" I covered my mouth. The small accessories from yesterday were still stuck in his hair, pinning it down in certain random places and making it look like he was balding. I burst out laughing, which made him laugh too. I wiped my eyes and stood. "You leave before me and make sure no one's around or you know what will happen-" I shuddered. I knew rumours would spew out like a machine gun. He nodded, standing up and stretching his arms over his head. I walked to my closet, throwing stuff out and trying to find a outfit as he left quietly without a word. It was probably better that way, anyways.

I decided on a mustard yellow turtle neck and a pair of light blue ripped jeans. It was simple and warm enough to protect me from the bitter cold that came from outside. I quickly threw them on and put on a red beanie for good measure. I tied my shoes and walked out the door to get breakfast. No one waited for me today, everyone basically ignoring me as I walked into the common room. I frowned to myself and got some food before even going over to my table, trying to hold off from seeing Kirishima as long as possible. Last night me and Midoriya made plans to go out and buy a few things that might help with my sore throat, and probably just walk around the cold but still bustling city. I got myself some food and took a deep breath, walking over to the table and taking my usual seat next to Mina. No one greeted me but I didn't really care. I felt Kirishima's eyes burn into me, as we hadn't talked since the incident yesterday. I'm sure he saw me leave, just decided other things were more important. It made me feel... Icky. I ate solemnly, an awkward silence surrounding me. After I finished, I stood and walked away casually, sitting where Midoriya was sitting. I wasn't really friends with anyone there but I felt a lot more comfortable. Chatter exploded from the Bakusquad table, Mina staring at me, looking a little hurt. I brushed it off and tried to focus on what everyone here was talking about.

"So where do you wanna go first?" Midoriya's voice rang in my ears. I really hoped I wasn't bothering him, but he seemed content. He was probably thinking the same thing.

" I dunno... Somewhere... chill... " We were looking for a place to eat. We had bought me some ointment and throat lozenges, though I didn't think it would help much.

"Oh I have an idea!" He grinned. "Do you like cats?"

The building that stood before me was very strange, the Windows all round and almost bubbled, the walls a pastel yellow. Midoriya practically dragged me inside, his eyes wide like a child in Christmas. The establishment was called "Purr place" and was filled with cats and kittens.

"A boba tea, peach flavor please! Ooh and four macaroons!" He bounced on his heels as he told the barista what he wanted.

"Uh, boba... Pineapple." I forced a smile. Once we were done, we sat at a table that was sat before a bubbled window and surrounded by cats of all shapes and sizes. A fluffy grey one rubbed against Izuku's leg, Purring very loud. He smiled like he was in heaven. I was glad to see him happy. That's when a small white cat with one blue and one green. It meowed at me and jumped up in my lap. "Hey there bud..." I pet it gently and smiled, understanding why people liked to come here. The kitty purred and nuzzled my hand, meowing and and kneading on my legs. /This is legit what heaven feels like./

"She seems to really like you!" A sweet voice cooed from behind me. I turned to see a petite woman with an old face. She smiled at me. "She has always been very stand-offish to customers, but she seems to be loving on you." She gave me a warm look and I couldn't help but smile.

"Oh?"

"Yes. All of our cats here have been saved from shelters or off the street, and are normally very friendly. But your friend there is very fond of you it seems." I rubbed the cats chin, her tilting her head at me. "It seems you should take her home."

"Huh?" I must of looked surprised because her eyes went wide.

"Of course I'm not forcing you too. She is just very very shy and doesn't get much attention here. I feel that you could give her a good home and she might be able to help you aswell." Her eyes twinkled, giving me a wink. "You may take her free of charge of you wish, if not leave her here."

"I-" I started to say, but she was gone in a flash. I looked at the white fluff ball in my lap as our boba and macaroons was set on my table.

"Kaminari! you should do it!" He smiled brightly.

"I... I would but... No pets in the dorms-"

"Shh, go with your heart and leave the excuses behind." He smiled knowingly.

"I..." I looked down at her, her bright eyes seemed to cut right through my soul. "I'm gonna get myself killed by Aizawa."

"Wait so you're gonna do it?!" He smiled excitedly.

"You only live once I guess... " /and in my case not long./ I sighed.

It may have been a complete rash decision, but I was gonna love this cat with everything I had for the time I was still alive.
