Percy didn't know what to say. he just finished talking with his dad, Poseidon, and apparently the gods are having the first annual Olympian Games. Each god with children had to submit two of their offspring- one Greek and one Roman- into a death match. The demigods had to fight another to the death until there was one winner.
Percy looked at his father and said, "I just don't understand... The gods I knew before would never do something this cruel."
Poseidon looked at his son with loving eyes and said, "Percy, I honestly don't know why we are having this either." The god looked away and said quietly, "Zeus just wants to have another reason to boast." He looked back at Percy. "Just trust me, ok. And please, fight for my honor."

"But mother." Annabeth said to her mom, Athena.
"You heard what I said, Annabeth. I chose you, my wisest child, to fight in the games. Do not complain." Then the goddess Athena disappeared with a flash.Annabeth sat in the library at Camp Half-Blood where her mother had just told her the horrible news. A death match for the demigods. She couldn't think of any good reason why the gods would do such a thing. She turned to walk away when she bumped into her boyfriend, Percy.
"Have you heard?" He asked sadly.
Annabeth solemnly nodded and hugged Percy. She whispered in his ear, "I don't want to lose you Perce."
Annabeth could feel Percy's tears falling onto her t-shirt as he said, "Me neither."

Jason laughed as his sister Thalia told him about her adventures at the Hoover Dam. He wiped the tears of laughter out of his eyes and said, "Man, I wish I was there."Thalia looked up and said, "Things were simpler back then. I mean better than they are today. No Titan War or Giant War yet. Just some sort of peace"
Jason rubbed her back and looked at the clouds, "Do you ever wonder what it's like to be a regular human being? Man I wish I coul-"
Jason's sentence was interrupted by a lightning bolt striking in front of him and a loud chain of thunder to go along with it. Both he and Thalia jumped, despite being around lightning all the time.
As the dust settled Jason could see a figure appear in front of him. He was wearing a gray suit that perfectly matched his stormy grey eyes. He had a deep beard and an expression that meant business. Jason knew he saw this man before. "Father!" He gasped. Jason was in awe while Thalia seemed to hold no expression.
"Yes, my child." The thunder god boomed. "I am here for a request for you two."
Thalia rolled her eyes. "Please don't tell me it's another life threatening quest."
The god chuckled deeply. "No, no, my daughter." His tone grew very grave. "I have entered you two, my strongest-well only- children to fight in the mighty Olympian Games! There you will fight other demigods, children of many other gods." Zeus sighed. "But this challenge will be to the death... Good luck." The god snapped his fingers and vanished into thin air.
Jason, mouth open, looked at his sister who was already running into the wood. He knew it would be no use chasing after her, so he went to go get comfort from Piper, his girlfriend. He ran as fast as he could to the Aphrodite cabin to find Piper. Moments later he burst through the door of the cabin, breathing heavily, to find not only Piper, but a surprising guest.
Jason recognized her immediately, thanks to her beauty. He bowed and said, "Aphrodite."
She turned around and exclaimed, "Oh, Jason! How are you my dear?"
