chapter eight

I heard a siren. It was the police. A bunch of police cars came over.

"Excuse me?" one says

"Good evening" i say

"What are you doing here?" he asks

"I'm waiting but no one's answering."

"We've been called by people saying that the prisoners-"

"Patients?"

He glared at me for a second but I smiled, "The patients have escaped. Do you know any of this? You've seen it didn't you?"

I shake my head "Well no. I've just arrived and I was supposed to visit but no one's answering. I don't see a single patient at my sight. You should try opening the door.."

He glanced at me then to the rest of the officers. They tried knocking but no one answered. They called for more security. They tried checking the windows but they couldn't see anything either. They started to investigate every part of the asylum. And in that moment I heard a crack.

"The windows are cracking" one says and it did break, revealing water spilling out of the asylum.

"Water?"

Everyone started running and escaping aswell, just like how the patient did. But me? I remained at the entrance. I don't care how wet I'd be. I promised to meet him here.

"Ma'am you have to come with us!" the security says but I ignored. I went to the broken window to go in. The water is about our knees. Some securities followed but I still didn't say a word.

No one was in the asylum. I couldn't find anybody. The security started breaking the door of the faculties then it hitted me. Why didn't Ashton just flood their room? To wreck the asylum, he would say. I know he's out here.

"Clogged drainage" an officer reported.

"They're dead" another officer reported. The faculties did die and the securities.

"This is probably a plan of a patient."

"Is there any survivor?" i ask

"None but the patients." one replies

"but you haven't found the body." i panic "He could still be alive!"

"These are all the faculties and securities. The patients probably planned to escape by killing them."

"He has to be here" i cry out loud

"We're already going to find those escaped patients."

I ran away to the place Ashton and I would always meet. He didn't have to suicide. He promised to meet me. He promised we would go together.

I went to the side and found it. He was so close to climbing up but he didn't make it. I yelled out loud , calling everyone's attention. I didn't really need attention. I needed Ashton.

"Bring him to the hospital!" i yell.

He looked tired. Everything was going so well why did it end?

And what hurts the most is that he didn't suicide. He actually wanted to go with me.
