this is pretty long and there's like a tiny bit at the end when jungkook leaves the school that was too short to be it's own chapter so sorry about that. but he's in america for the next one.

also, let's pretend that taehyung already told jiminie and hobi about him being poor and the whole back story before this chapter so they're all caught up.

"so, are you going to say bye to him today?"

jimin sits on the table closest to the counter, small legs crossed over gently with hoseok mirroring him on his left. they visited him during his shift today, the one before his goodbye to jungkook who was leaving for america in two days.

taehyung has yet to really take in what was happening, his emotions are going haywire. some days he's awful, since he dropped out of sonyeondan he has no need to study as much at his new public school, so he's got ample time to think about how much things are going to suck without jungkook around. this does not bode well for him and his happiness. some days he's okay, there's tons of customers at the boba shop or his teachers give him enough work to keep him focused and it's better than crying into his pillow all the time.

but this is happening, jeon jungkook was leaving him to go to america and it's eating taehyung up on the inside.

"that's the plan." he wipes at a spot that's already gleaming. "today is his last day of taking  final exams and then tomorrow he picks up his diploma and then late friday night, he leaves." taehyung speaks with no emotion and it seems to be obvious as the two elders give him a look.

the brunette fixes his hair. "taehyung....you know you don't have to pretend like you're okay, right? you can be sad around us." it's so genuine, soft, enough to make taehyung want to curl up into a ball and cry his eyes out.

he isn't okay and he is very sad right now but some part of taehyung's brain has convinced him that he forked up the privilege to miss jungkook after hurting him like he did back in december.

"i know. i just." he pauses, looking up at his friends, his hyungs. "..i keep on thinking that things will just bounce back, like, i'm convinced that he's not going  but he's leaving me." a humorless laugh escapes his chapped lips. "fuck, the first guy i've ever liked and i pushed him all the way to fucking america." it's not funny but taehyung laughs again.

he's never had this, jungkook is so many firsts for him as he is for jungkook. boys never gave taehyung the time of day for anything else but pleasure. he sleeps around, has sex in the most bizarre of places because it's twenty minutes of niceness until it's back to his boring life of being poor.

but jungkook is enough of a distraction. actually no, distraction isn't the right word, more of enhancement. taehyung feels like he can be himself around him, he doesn't feel like boring kim taehyung from daegu when they're together and it isn't effortless like he was always told "relationships" should be but it's infinitely easier than any other boy that's spent time with him. there's a desire, a craving, to be around with him more and more and not just do the physical stuff. taehyung wants to talk and cuddle and watch tv.

"you really like him, don't you?"jimin asks, earning a curt nod in response. taehyung doesn't have a perfect label on what he feels. if there was a word to describe a stomach churning, heart-numbing, borderline medically concerning feeling, that would definitely be it but we can go for like for now.

"well....what do you like about him?" a small hand cups the blonde's delicate chin and suddenly, the three of them are teenage girls at a birthday party sleepover in their pajamas to talk about boys like this.
