okay the dynamite teaser photos had me on the fucking floor.
joon with the blue hair then jinnie with the cute little soft brown mop and yoongi with the UNDERCUT AND HOSEOK I-
that man has bias wrecked me (he's one of my biases) too many times wtf.
jimin and jungoo looked so retro and cute and tae's mullet-
they all looked so good, i am not ready for august 21st.
upon landing in incheon international airport, jungkook didn't really know what he'd feel. he's here for a multitude of reasons; his hyungs' graduation, seokjin's wedding, and to see taehyung. each reason making him feel something different when he thinks of them. sure, he's excited to see his oldest hyung get married to the love of his life and glad that his childhood friends will be moving with him to america, but he's nervous as shit to see taehyung.
the older knows he's coming back but has no clue that jungkook plans on surprising him at his parent's place in daegu in a few days. they had planned it a while ago, taehyung spoke to his parents about it, made jungkook speak to them as well, it should work out fine.
finna throw up my banana milk in two seconds if i don't get the fuck out of here. airports are like social anxiety breeding grounds for jungkook.
he searches for seokjin and his fiance in the general waiting area. they promised to pick him up and treat jungkook to some nice korean food the minute he gets back. it's that promise that makes him search a little harder, not cause he misses him or anything, gross.
"over here!" jungkook's head whips to the side at the voice and he smiles all wide. a mop of chocolate brown hair sits on a tall, lanky body; it's kim seokjin. his fiance stands next to him with a big grin on her lips, brown locks flopping as she jumps once they make eye contact.
jungkook himself doesn't look much different. his hair is still black, parted in the middle to frame his face and curled with a bit of product. he's still tall and strongly built with a baby face. he doesn't look different but he definitely feels different.
months ago, jungkook left seoul with the plan of maturing and fixing himself, becoming less dependent on his environment or other people to make himself better. he's not perfect at it, still doubts himself from time to time but he's made progress and that's all that matters.
"there he is, mr. columbia. you look good." seokjin exclaims, enveloping jungkook in a big bear hug with his arms around his waist while the younger holds his back. it's comforting, no one's held him like this in a long ass time and he's missed it.
his forearms squeeze seokjin. "hmmm, you got uglier, though." he comments, getting pushed off by the older harshly at what he said.
"you bitch, how dare you? i come all the way from the estates to incheon, pack you home made food, wait in this sutffy ass airport for you, and you call me ugly? i've literally never been ugly in my twenty-"
"-honey, i think jungkook would like to go home." his fiance cut in, softly grazing seokjin's shoulder and watching in satisfaction as the brunette nearly melted at her touch. "we'll continue this conversation there." she ruffles the younger's hair as they walk out of the exit in the international arrivals area.
it's grossly humid in seoul in july. the air is thick with moisture and jungkook's thin hoodie is doing wonders at making him sweat like a damn pig. he didn't want to take it off out of the fear of 'ruining his aesthetic' but that's just the best excuse he can give right now.
