~Nurse Mary~

The patient was under strict surveillance while they healed. Two patients with knife, whip and burn marks all over their body, the girl had bruises all over. We all believed that she wouldn't make it, but the boy had hope. Day and night we worked with them, the boy woke up two days after getting here but the girl hasn't woken up in two weeks.

No one could find any information on her, it's as if she was a ghost up until now. She was heavily wounded, her legs had it the worst, whip cuts that got as deep as her muscles. You could see through one of her hands because of a wide wound that cut all the flesh and tenants in her palm. When we found her she was all bloody, from head to toe. It was as if it was her skin, the blood covered every part of her body. When we checked her out we were all surprised to find that she was still breathing. Her pulse was weak and it was fading but we got to the hospital in time before it was gone.

The boy couldn't speak because of a strained throat but he wrote down everything he could remember. Most of the team working with either of them asked the kids that brought the boy in if they had any idea who the girl was, but since we couldn't let them in the room I had to describe her, her eyes were closed shut with dried up blood so I couldn't see her eye color, but her hair was a dark black. After her surgery, due to internal bleeding, we washed her up and saw that she had pale skin, her muscle definition was outstanding and she had old wounds from fistfights but they didn't affect anything in her current wounds.

We found out from the boy that he and the other kids were kidnapped by a gang in the next town over. We live in a small city so I asked what town it was but he couldn't know because he was blacked out during the drive there and here. I learned his name to be Rhydian, a nice and unique name. When I asked if his emergency contacts work all day he became stiff and I found out that it wasn't wise to call them again. I promised him that I wouldn't since he is 18 and technically an adult.

"Mary we have a problem with the girl!" One of my teammates yelled from the girls' room.

I ran to the room and froze when I saw her. Tears were falling down her face, the heart monitor was freaking out as her heartbeat became fast and sudden. I saw as the girls' hands clenched into fists, she began to dig her nails into her healing skin. I rushed over to her and helped stretch out her fingers to prevent further damage. Her lips began to tremble.

"Dean" she whispered.

Once she was settled down enough I ran to the office and called the boy that had brought Rhydian in, I didn't know if he was who she was referring too but he was the only Dean in this town that I knew of.

An hour later Dean and his two friends, Sophia and Nora, arrived in a panic. I led them to the room where the girl was being held. When they saw her they all began to tear up. Safe to say they know her. The boy stepped up and fell to his knees next to her bed. He held her hand in his, the girls rushed to his side and cried into his shoulder. Do they know what happened to her?

"I love all of you, tell Rhydian I love him too." The girl whispered.

The heart monitor slowly went flat. I rushed to call more nurses and doctors, the kids screamed and yelled as they watched their friends' light dim. I had to push them out of the room as we tried to start her heart again.

"Ex!!" Dean yelled.

So that's her name. I told one of the nurses to ask the kids questions about her and what her full name is.

~Other Nurse~

"So her name is Ex Lavon?" They all nodded their heads. "Sorry, but there is no one with that name. Do you know any other name she could go by?"

"I'm not sure but her real name has to start with those letters, can you check for any missing people with those letters?" The older woman asked with desperation.

I switched tabs and typed in the two letters, sure enough a report came up, It was a closed case.

Turning the screen I showed them the picture and they all nodded, letting me know that they were the same person. When I turned the screen back to me, my blood ran cold as I read her information.

Age: 18

Sex: Female

Other: Parents were shot and killed in a drive-by shooting, murderers not found. Expedita went missing after her parent's death, it has come to our attention that she was not with the parents at the time of the murder. Their home has signs of forced entry. Blood was found on her bedroom door. Small footprints suggest she got away but they disappear once deep in the forest. She is thought to be dead after being missing for 14 years.

Everything besides her name and age was a mystery. The picture of her that was with her file was of a smiling five-year-old girl. Her hair in pigtails. I felt tears sting my eyes, I sent the information to Mary, the girls' main nurse.

I waited with the kids for almost an hour before Mary came out. Her hands were spotted with blood and she had a tired look on her face.

"That girl is a fighter. We were able to restart her heart but she is in critical condition."

I turned to the other nurse and told her to contact the police and have them contact the girl's relatives if they could.

The kids looked relieved but still worried. "You kids go home and rest up, we can't let you see her right now but you can come back tomorrow." They nodded and walked out the building, crying tears of relief.
