Chapter Fourteen

Three months later, Bella and Alex kept in touch with their father and learned that he had enough of their mother and kicked her out and filed for a divorce. They heard that Derek's father did the same with his mother. Derek also cut all ties with his mother as well. Nick and the guys made sure security was tight on the building and gave them pictures of both woman and told them they were not allowed in no matter what.

"Baby it will be okay," Nick said.

"I just have this bad feeling like she is going to come after me to get revenge," Bella said.

"We won't let that happen," Ben said.

"Hey guys," Derek said.

"Hi Derek," Bella said.

"My dad called me, he got a call from the police, our mothers were in a car accident, they didn't make it," Derek said.

"They probably faked it," Bella said.

"I just came from the morgue, I was with my dad and your dad," Derek said.

"Hi honey," Jack said.

"Dad?" Bella asked.

"It's her, honey," Jack said.

"Is this a joke?" Bella asked.

"Honey why would I joke about something like this?" Jack asked.

"Forgive me for having a hard time believing this, after I thought that my mother supported me and Nick together when all along she was plotting with Sandy to get me with Derek," Bella said.

"Isabella, you listen to me, you know I was against that, your mother is dead, if she faked her death, I was not a part of it, I was divorcing her, remember," Jack said. She nodded and fell into Nick's arms. He held her close.

A week later, they were sitting in the lawyer's office waiting for the reading of her mother's will. It was two days after the funeral. The lawyer read everything in the will. Bella got all her jewelry. Alex got her father's watch

"Now I have a letter that she gave me to read to you in case something happened to her," the lawyer said. He opened it and read it to them.

"My family, if you are reading this or it's being read to you, then something happened to me, you have to know the truth, I am deeply sorry for everything, the plan was not mine, it was all Sandy, I didn't want to be a part of it, but she gave me no choice, she said if I didn't go along with her plan, she would kill Jack and hurt Alex and Bella, she told me if I said anything to anyone, even the police, she would hurt you all, I had to do what I did to protect you all because you all are my life, my life is nothing without you, I know she would make good on her threat so I had to go along with it, Jack, you are my heart, my love, Alex, you are my firstborn, you made me a mother, and Bella, you are my baby girl, my baby, my life, I am happy for you and Nick, you two are definitely made for each other, all three of you are my life, please forgive me my loves, love always, Carla/Mom," Carla said in the letter.

"Oh god," Alex said.

"She was happy for me," Bella said.

"Oh my love," Jack said. Alex and Bella hugged their father. He hugged them close.

"Dad, we should tell Robert and Derek," Bella said.

"Yeah we should honey," Jack said. They left the office and went to the house and rang the doorbell. Derek opened it.

"Hey guys, come in," Derek said. They went in and sat down. Robert came in and sat down.

"Hey guys," Robert said.

"We just came from the reading of Carla's will, she left us a letter," Jack said.

"Oh?" Robert said. Jack read the letter to them. Robert and Derek looked at each other.

"Oh god," Derek said.

"I can't believe this," Robert said.

"We found my mom's journal," Derek said.

"Oh?" Jack said.

"Before they died, the next plan was to take out Bella's husband," Robert said.

"What?" Nick said.

"They were going to kill him?" Bella asked.

"I'm sorry Bella, that's what she said," Derek said.

"And hearing Carla's letter, it seemed that my wife was the mastermind behind the plot and was making Carla be a part of it," Robert said.

"I can't believe my mother would go this far," Derek said.

"Why was she so intent on us being together?" Bella asked.

"She said she had a dream of us together, she always wanted to make her dreams come true," Derek said.

"I should have done something like maybe put her in a mental hospital," Robert said.

"You are right about that, Dad, she was way beyond help," Derek said. Nick's phone beeped and he looked at it. He looked at Bella.

"Babe?" Bella asked.

"Ben just texted me, he said they released Lexi from prison and she showed up at the office," Nick said.

"Looking for me?" Bella asked.

"She wants to make amends," Nick said.

"Why did they let her out?" Bella asked.

"Because Hannah confessed that it was all her doing to get revenge on Ben for dumping her after one date, she wanted more," Nick said.

"She didn't force Hannah to do that?" Bella asked.

"They kept them separate in prison, they never saw each other since before Lexi got arrested," Nick said.

"Let's go," Bella said. They said bye to Robert and Derek and went to the office.
