Chapter Twelve

That evening, Nick and Bella finished up and got their stuff together and opened the door and saw Ben standing there.

"Nope," Nick said.

"We don't want to talk," Bella said. They pushed past him and went to the elevators.

"Please I want to explain," Ben said.

"Explain what, that you were fucking that witch in our bed," Nick said.

"You know what she did to me and you fucked her," Bella said.

"I thought you knew better," Nick said.

"You said you would be waiting for us when we got home," Bella said.

"Just you were waiting while you were buried inside that witch," Nick said.

"It was only that time and I will not make that mistake again," Ben said.

"You blew your last chance, Ben," Bella said.

"We are done, it's just me and Bella in this relationship, you are just our co-worker, you have a long road to get back my friendship," Nick said.

"You have no idea how sorry I am, if I could go back in time, I would change things but I can't," Ben said.

"You know what, let's get it over with, why did you do it," Bella said.

"I don't know, I was at the bar down the road, I was missing you guys and she was there, we bought each other drinks, one thing led to another," Ben said.

"And she didn't know about you being with us?" Nick asked.

"No, I said I was staying at your house while you guys were gone on your honeymoon because mine was being renovated," Ben said.

"Why our bed?" Nick asked.

"I didn't pay attention to what room we were in," Ben said.

"So you were thinking with your dick," Bella said.

"I wasn't thinking period," Ben said.

"Wait, you said you bought each other drinks, did you ever leave yours unattended?" Nick asked.

"A football game was on the TV and I would glance at it from time to time," Ben said.

"Babe?" Bella asked.

"Let's go find us a witch," Nick said.

"What," Ben said.

"Oh god," Bella said.

"You may have been drugged," Nick said.

"But I remember what happened," Ben said.

"Maybe it wasn't that strong of a dose, just enough to get you to the point where you do what she wants," Nick said.

"Maybe getting her pregnant," Bella said.

"But she doesn't know I was with you guys in that way, all she knew was that we were best friends," Ben said.

"Maybe the drug caused you to spill the beans," Nick said.

"But she couldn't have known anything before then if she planned this," Ben said.

"Let's grab her and find out," Bella said. They left the office and found Lexi's house and pounded on her door. She opened it and saw them.

"What the?" Lexi said.

"Hello Alexis," Bella said. Bella punched her knocking her out. Ben picked her up and carried her to the car and they went to the office and tied her to a chair and waited for her to wake up. Ben made a phone call. A few minutes later, Chris, Ashley, Amber, Alex, Kenny, and Sarah showed up and they told them what was going on. They heard the elevator and looked and saw Max, who was their best friend and a police detective. They told him what they suspected. Max sat in front of Lexi as she started waking up.

"Hi there," Max said.

"Who are you?" Lexi asked.

"I'm Max, I'm a detective with the NYPD, heard you like to cause trouble," Max said.

"What?" Lexi said.

"Like drugging guys to get them into bed," Max said.

"What?" Lexi said.

"Oh so you didn't meet up with Ben at a bar and put a drug in his drink and get him into bed?" Max asked.

"Oh god," Lexi said.

"Is it true?" Max asked. She hung her head and nodded.

"Now why did you do this?" Max asked.

"Because I wanted to destroy Bella's life by hurting her friends," Lexi said.

"Oh here we go again," Bella said.

"Bella, why does she want to destroy your life?" Max asked.

"She and I went to high school together, she liked a guy who asked me out, I turned him down, he never gave her a shot so she plotted revenge on me, years later she got it by banging her boss for three years, her boss was my fiance at the time, I walked in on them and broke up with him, then three years later, she finds out where I work and tells my ex-fiance who was wanting me back but I was already with my husband and I didn't want to be with a cheater," Bella said.

"So this goes back to high school over a guy," Max said.

"Yeah, she hated me because I supposedly kept her from the guy who obviously was not interested in her at all or he would have gave her a shot," Bella said.

"So you decided to try to get her friends away from her by drugging Ben and getting him into bed, what would have been gained from that," Max said.

"Because it was me," Lexi said.

"I have to call this in and have your home searched," Max said.

"No!" Lexi said.

"If you have nothing to hide then it won't be a problem if it got searched right?" Max asked.

"Fine," Lexi said. Max made the call and they waited. Lexi shot glares at Bella.

"Stop with the glares, Alexis, you brought this on yourself," Max said. She looked at the floor. Max got a call and got out his handcuffs and put them on her wrists.

"You are under arrest for possession of drugs," Max said. He read her the rights and took her out of the building. Ben sat down.
