Chapter Twenty

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This chapter is going to be the final chapter for now. I might come back to this story if I think of ways to continue it but right now I've hit a wall with it so I'm ending it for now.

Alex pulled into the driveway and they got out and he helped her into the house and found Amber sitting on the couch.

"He went to shower," Amber said.

"So he's okay?" Bella asked.

"When I told him that Alex and Kenny found you and were coming home with you, he thought he should get cleaned up, he looked like crap," Amber said.

"Oh," Bella said.

"Bella, baby!" Nick said. He came running down the stairs and took her into his arms and buried his face in her neck.

"Hey," Bella said.

"I'm so glad you're home, please don't leave me again, I never want to be without you, I know I said divorce but I wouldn't have actually done it, I came home and was kicking myself for saying it and even more when I left the hospital the first time after you told me to leave and said the baby was gone, I'm glad I went back and found out that the baby was okay, which reminds me, go to bed, you should be resting," Nick said.

"Yes dear," Bella said.

"I'll be up soon and we will talk everything out," Nick said.

"Okay," Bella said. She hugged Alex and Kenny and went upstairs. Nick shook hands with the guys and got Bella's stuff from Kenny and they all left. Nick locked up and went upstairs and went to the bedroom and got ready for bed. He got settled in next to her. She snuggled up against him.

"I promise never to leave if you promise never to think about letting me go," Bella said.

"I promise baby," Nick said. They continued talking until they got tired and fell asleep. The next day Nick headed to the office with Bella. He got her settled on his couch where he set up a temporary desk for her.

"I want to sit at my own desk," Bella said.

"I'm sorry baby, you are supposed to be resting but since you won't stay home in bed, this is what you get," Nick said.

"Nick," Bella said.

"Baby, you just got out of the hospital after having pains, doctor told you to rest, how are you going to do that sitting in a desk chair, you are almost due with the birth of our child, I want to make sure you both are okay and that nothing happens without me there with you," Nick said.

"I'm sorry, it's just that I hate this," Bella said.

"I know you do, baby, but it is only temporary until you give birth and then you and I will take leave from work and spend quality time with our little one," Nick said.

"Babe, you have cases," Bella said.

"No he doesn't, he's been slowly delegating them to me and the guys, he's only working on ones that will be finished before you are due to give birth, ones that he can finish two or three weeks before your due date," Ben said.

"And if something happens before then, one of us can finish them up," Chris said.

"We got it covered, Bels," Ben said.

"You don't need to worry about anything, okay," Kenny said.

"All right," Bella said.

"I'm going to head out early, I've got a date tonight," Ben said.

"Okay bro, have fun," Nick said.

"It's just a date, man," Ben said.

"Ben, go man," Nick said.

"Bye guys," Ben said. He went out the door with everyone behind him. Nick looked at Bella.

"Baby?" Nick asked.

"I'm fine," Bella said.

"No you aren't, you are upset about him having a date," Nick said.

"It's just seems a little soon," Bella said.

"I know baby but he's trying to move on," Nick said.

"Why does he," Bella said.

"Baby, we talked about this, okay," Nick said.

"I know, I just miss it," Bella said.

"I know and I do too but it is what it is," Nick said.

"I'm going to take a nap," Bella said. He got up and moved her tray and helped her lay down and kissed her forehead.

"I love you baby," Nick said.

"I love you too," Bella said. He sat down at his desk and went back to work. She closed her eyes and went to sleep.

Three weeks later, Bella was in the hospital. She was holding their baby girl in her arms. Nick sat beside her and gazed at their baby girl. She rested against him as they gazed at their baby girl.

"Our daughter," Nick said.

"She's so beautiful," Bella said.

"Like her mother, I love you so much baby," Nick said. He kissed her forehead. She looked up at him and he kissed her softly. He leaned down and kissed his daughter's forehead.

"Hey baby girl, I'm so glad you are here with us and I will never let anything happen to you or your mom, you both are my life," Nick said. She smiled as she watched him talk to their daughter. The door opened and everyone came in and gushed over the baby.

"Everyone, meet Emily Nicole Stone," Bella said.

"Hey Emily, I'm Aunt Amber, well soon to be aunt when I marry your uncle Alex, I am also your godmother," Amber said.

"Hey Emily, I'm your uncle Ben, I'm your godfather," Ben said. Ben began dating a woman named Dana and they are becoming serious. Bella was happy for them as she has moved on from her feelings for him and would always love him.

"I'm your Uncle Chris and this is your Aunt Ashley," Chris said.

"I'm your Uncle Kenny and this is your Aunt Sarah," Kenny said.

"I'm your Uncle Alex," Alex said.

"And I'm your Grandpa Jack," Jack said.

"Want to hold her, Grandpa?" Bella asked. Her father took the baby in his arms and gazed down at her and smiled.

"She's so beautiful, sweetheart," Jack said.

"I know she is," Bella said. They all got to hold the baby before she ended up in Nick's arms as he sat beside her on the bed. They sat there gazing at their daughter and knew things were as they should be.
