Chapter 5

🌳🌳

Kaia was sitting on a chair inside the ceremonial officials' office, being stared down by a lot of eyes.

"Listen, Kaia. It is standard procedure for you to spend one day with each boy. We can't simply change the rules that have been around for centuries." The official says sitting in his chair.

"I understand that and I mean no offense, I just don't feel comfortable around Adray." Kaia says and The entire Royal family tenses up, knowing that the other Family has a lot of connections around the world, if Kaia says this to them it might cause some ructions.

"I won't lie to them." Kaia says being able to read from their expressions that they are worried.

"But you have to." Brian says and Kaia spins around on the chair.

"Wow." Kaia says in complete disbelieve. She thought at least Brian would agree with her.

"You're unbelievable. All of you are. You're ready to lie and create a misconception, just for the sake of business and ties with that family." Kaia stands up from her seat, looking at Brian's eyes.

"I thought at least you wouldn't want me to lie. I guess I was wrong." Kaia says removing the necklace. Her silver pair of wings turning a shade of red

Brian grabs her hands, looking at her trying to convince her with his eyes that he's sorry, but she was to angry to see any reason.

She pushes him away a few feet, removing the ring from the necklace and holding it between her fingers.

"You have to decide. Me and an heir in the future or Money that will satisfy your greed?" Kaia asks Brian tries again to make her understand but she hold the ring in her palm closing it into a fist, and holds up her other hand.

"Choose." Kaia says and Stara places a hand on her shoulder. "Kaia what are you doing?! Just agree. One lie can't hurt anyone."

"Are you insane with power?!" Kaia turns and directs her attention to her parents. "Are you that eager to get rid of me?! I knew you wanted to alone again, but this is the limit!" Kaia screams.

"Choose." Kaia says one last time and no one moved, to shocked at her outburst to do anything. A seering pain races through her left arm, where the clan mark is tattooed.

Looking at the area everyone's shocked, knowing only the King and his son could remove the clan marks.

Kaia turns her head to the side and sees both Brian and his father's eyes white, a sign of the removal spell being cast.

Smiling sadly, Kaia's heart breaks, she never thought that Brian would break her heart that she gave to him, completely and unrestrained.

During his trance like state, Brian was vulnerable. Kaia takes Brian's hand placing the ring inside his hand.

The entire room was silent with shock, never having thought that either of them would perform the spell, much less both of them together.

"I was in love with you even before the engagement. Had I known you would break my heart like this, I never would have become your friend, much less agree to marry you."

Kaia places the ring in his palm closing his hand.

"I loved you but now I hate you." she says placing a kiss on his cheek and storms out of the office.

She ran past everyone waiting outside the office, crying her eyes out. She felt someone grab her wrist and she rips out of the grip.

Adray stands staring at her, shocked. His grip tightens on her wrist and she steps closer trying to free her hand when Adray sees her clan mark beginning to fade as smoke starts rising from the mark.
