Salad

I was cutting lettuce for a salad for dinner and my finger was in the path of the knife and I cut my finger 😳

I said ow and stared at my finger for a few seconds before my sister went to get my mom. I was about to cry as I casually pulled on my finger, which opened up the cut. It got bandaged after getting sprayed with hydrogen peroxide. It's still throbbing a bit, but it's fine other than that. I don't think I cut too deep. It wasn't just a little scratch, but I definitely didn't hit any bone. It was a serrated knife though, so it hurt more than it probably would've if it weren't a serrated edge.

A thing I didn't consider until later was if it would affect color guard. It's just a cut on the side of my left finger, but I don't know if it will affect the way I hold/catch the flag. It feels hard to bend my finger (which may just be because the bandage is close to the joint in my finger).

And then the other thing I didn't consider until later when I jokingly pointed it out to my sister was "I guess I won't be playing that game anymore". I think you know which game. It hurts to tap too hard with my finger, but if I'm gentle, it won't hurt. That said, I switched over to using my middle fingers to play the game (which is what I used to do) just to play it safe.

Anyway, back to the salad. One of my sisters got a different knife to finish cutting the lettuce and tomatoes for the salad. I didn't want any salad last night. I didn't bleed into the lettuce or anything, I just didn't want any.

Oh forgot to mention, it's my left index finger. I'm right handed so I don't mind it too much.
