Twenty seven

Ashley's POV

"I'm done getting wiped out by waves. I'm sitting on the beach!" I announced to the group as I dragged my board onto the sand.

I sat down on the beach and slightly shivered as the wind blew on my wet skin. I glanced over at my friends playing in the water. I noticed JJ was missing. Did the idiot drown or something?

"Boo!" JJ yelled from behind me causing me to scream.

"Asshole!" I yelled as I smacked his arm.

He laughed loudly as he sat beside me. He shook his hair out causing the lose droplets to hit me. We both stared at the water as the wind blew our blonde hair around.

"Why aren't you in the water?" I ask him curious of his answer.

"Because you aren't in there." He replies softly as he turns to look at me.

I just roll my eyes and look away from him.

"If you keep making comments like that you are gonna make me fall in love with you." I say playfully as I use my feet to play with the sand.

"What's wrong with that?" He replies playfully as I feel his gaze on me.

"No pogue on pogue macking of course." I say as I turn to look at him.

His eyes were locked on mine as a small smirk formed on his face.

"Nobody actually follows that rule." He says back to me.

"Well it's a known rule not to date your best friend." I say causing him to furrow his brows.

"Just sounds like your making excuses as to why you can't date me." He says to me.

"Did you ask me to date you?" I ask him as I study his face.

A rare thing occurred. JJ actually looked flustered. He actually was thinking about what he was about to say.

"I Uh didn't." He replies quietly.

"Exactly." I say as I close my eyes and lay back on the sand.

"Do you want me to?" He asks me causing me to open my eyes and look up at him.

"I don't know do I?" I say playfully causing him to roll his eyes.

"You are a tease Ashley." He says as he gets up.

"You are one to talk JJ." I reply as I give him a smirk.

He sighs as he runs back into the water and submerges himself under. I get up and run after him and dive under water. I quickly swim up to the surface and move my hair out of my face. JJ just stares at me as he wraps his hands around my waist and picks me up. I squeal as he throws me over his shoulder and carries me around.

"Put me down!" I yell as JJ laughs.

"Whatever you say princess." He says sarcastically as he throws me into the water.

My body plunges under water and before I can swim up a pair of strong arms pulls me up.

"You know I can swim on my own." I say sharply as JJ sits me on his lap. His arms were wrapped tightly around my waist.

"You almost drowned. You aren't the best swimmer." He says jokingly causing me to hit his chest.

"Can you two like not be on top of each other for more than two seconds!" Pope yelled as they all swam over to us.

Kie winked at me causing me to shake my head at her.

"It's not my fault JJs clingy as fuck." I say jokingly.

"Don't act like you don't love it." JJ whispered in my ear.

"You guys ready to head back?" John B asked us.

"Come on John B. Today is suppose to be legendary." JJ says.

"Well what do you want to do JJ?" John B asked him.

"Kegger." JJ said as he smiled down at me. I smiled back up at him.
