Thirty five

JJs POV

"Ashley!" I screamed into the dark empty forest.

I had been looking for her for over three hours.

"JJ we have to head back!" Kie yelled at me.

I sighed as I looked around the forest. I didn't want to give up but the forest went on for a while and it was unlikely I was going to find her.

"You are probably right. We can look for her again tomorrow." I mumble as I start walking back.

"Kie JJ!" We heard Pope yell as he started running at us.

"Did you find her?" I ask him as I grip his shoulders tightly.

He stops running and takes a couple deep breaths.

"I was back at the house and John B got a call from the police station. She's there." Pope said as he struggled to breathe.

I immediately started running back to John Bs house. Kie and Pope followed closely behind me. Once we reached the house John B was already waiting in the car. We all piled in and John B started driving.

"Why would she be with the police?" Kie asked me.

"I don't know maybe she got lost and that's the only place she could find." I say not actually believing that was the case.

It was my fault she ran away. She saw me and Kie kissing and it made her upset. I should have just killed Topper and Rafe. I impatiently tapped my foot as I stared out the window. I was completely exhausted but I wouldn't be able to sleep until I knew Ashley was okay.

"Hurry up John B!" I yelled from the back seat.

"I'm going as fast as I can shut up JJ!" John B yelled back at me.

Kie rolled her eyes and turned her body away from everyone. We were all tired and worried. We finally arrived at the police station and I wasted no time in getting out of the car. I quickly ran inside with Pope right behind me.

"Can I help you?" The lady asked me at the front desk.

She looked me up and down and then glared at me.

"We received a call that our friend Ashley was here. Can we see her?" Pope asked the lady calmly.

My body was shaking as I impatiently waited for her to respond. I needed to see Ashley.

"She's talking to the sheriff right now. You can wait out there for her." The lady said as she pointed to the waiting room.

"I need to see her now." I say sharply.

"I already told you that you can't see her right now. Just wait." The lady said sharply.

I sighed as I made my way to the waiting room. I looked around the station to see if I could see where Ashley was. I knew she was in the sheriffs office but it was at the back of the station. Pope sat down in the chair but I couldn't sit. I paced back in forth as I bit my finger nails. I needed something to distract me but I didn't bring any cigarettes.

"Where is she?" John B asked me as him and Kie entered the room.

"We have to wait here for her." I reply sharply.

"Just sneak back and take a quick peek at her through the window." John B whispers.

"Cover me." I whisper as I walk towards the back of the station.
