Virgil's POV

I was sitting in the booth next to Logan, who was helping out with tech. Roman finished his song, hitting a note way longer and higher than he should have, considering he was binding. Then, he collapsed. Logan thought quickly.

"Ladies, gentlemen, and everyone beyond and in between, please remain calm while we sort this out. Janus Appleton, will you please come to the backstage door?" He said over the auditorium speaker system, just 2 seconds after Roman fell. I was still frozen out of shock. Logan leaned over and gave me a soft hug.

"He's going to be okay. Can you please go drop the curtain for me?" he whispered in my ear. Logan still wasn't the best with emotions, but after spending 4 months dating my dad, he had definitely improved. I nodded and stood up slowly. I exited the booth and put the curtain down. I quickly hurried to the backstage door to let Roman's dad, Janus, into the backstage area.

"Do you have any idea what might have caused this?" Logan asked the two of us

"He was binding, but I don't know if that could cause something this bad" Janus responded

"It can" I replied quietly. Both men looked at me with a confused look.

"How do you know that?" Janus asked

"I may or may not have done a bunch of research about being trans when I found out that Roman is because I have a giant crush on him" I blurted out, slapping my hands over my mouth when I realized what I had just revealed. Up till now, Daisy and Dad were the only two who knew about my crush.

"Did you think we didn't know about your crush on him?" Janus asked

"You knew?!" I exclaimed

   "Yes, we knew! Your father is terrible at keeping secrets! But that's beside the point. The point right now is that we need to get Roman to the hospital" Logan replied. I nodded in agreement and Janus picked Roman up and carried him to their car.

"Missy! Come on,  we're taking Roman to the hospital!" I said to Missy, Roman's twin sister. She quickly joined us and climbed into the car. At some point along the way to the car, we found Dad and he rode with us.

A few minutes later

Janus pulled into the hospital parking lot and parked the car.

"Virgil, Missy, can you two stay here with him in case he wakes up?" he asked. Missy and I nodded.
