"Who's Sleeping Alone Tonight?"
Madeline's eyes widened as her eyes landed on the wounded creature. Her feet was glued to the ground and didn't know what to do. You don't get to see mythical creatures everyday. Especially when you're raised in the modern world.
She shook her head and decided to walk over to the merman. It was lying on a rock, holding its side, which is wounded. It looks like it was shot by an arrow. It was barely conscious.
Maddie crossed the river, not bothering getting wet. The merman saw her getting closer and hissed. She stopped. "Woah, I'm not going to hurt you."
"You're a human. All humans do is hurt us." It said. "Well, I'm different from the humans you've met. I just want to help you." She gently said, assuring the merman.
"Your wound looks deep." The girl said as she got closer. The merman finally let her help him. "What happened?" She asked.
"Still your kind. Attacked us earlier at the lagoon and he luckily shot me." The merman hissed. "He? Who's he?" Maddie asked. "Who else? Peter Pan, of course."
Maddie looked at the merman. She thought Peter was just going to get some mystical plant near the mermaid lagoon. She didn't know he decided to go hunting mermaids.
"How are you any different?" The merman asked her. "How am I so sure that you won't stab me and make fish fillet out of me?"
She sighed. "If I had any intention on killing you, I wouldn't have risked crossing the river while the tide is rising."
Maddie ripped off the hem of her blouse and covered the merman's wound. He grunted as she put it. "It'll stop the bleeding. I don't have materials I can use to clean your wound. But I can return to camp-'
"Camp? Wait. What camp are you talking about?" He asked, getting cautious. Maddie turn back to him. "Peter Pan's camp."

Peter found Felix and Scott sitting by the fire. Scott was already drooling, laying on the log.
"Put him to his bed, Felix. He'll hurt his back if he sleep like that." Peter said, getting off his satchel and putting down his bow and arrow. He was tired from his trip. "He said he won't leave until Madeline comes back." Felix said.
Peter snapped his head to Felix. "Where is she?" Felix turned to him. "By the river, I guess? She fetched water."
"You let her fetch water by herself?!" He gritted between his teeth. Felix trembled. He knows Pan doesn't like letting Madeline go off the camp alone. Especially at night. And it's been thirty minutes since she left. It doesn't take that long to fetch a bucket of water.
"She insisted. You know she doesn't like being followed around." Felix explained. "Guarding her wasn't a permit, Felix. It was my orders." He firmly said before dashing off to the river.
He's unsure if that merman he accidentally shot earlier was washed up to the river. The river was connected to the Mermaid Lagoon and it was possible the creature could have ended there.
And Madeline is there.
Peter made a note to himself that he would make a cage and put the red head princess there.

Madeline was having a hard time breathing. The merman's hands were wrapped on her neck, choking her. Its eyes turn like of a cat and his fangs showed, hissing at her.
"I-I told you. I m-mean no h-harm." She choked out. The tides were getting faster and the merman must be behind it. "How can I trust you? Pan must have sent you for me! All humans are the same." He hissed.
"No. Y-you're wrong. Not all of us are the same."
Peter arrived and saw the merman choking the princess up in the air. "Madeline." With a flick of his hand, a bow and arrow appeared and he took his aim.
Maddie saw Peter in the corner of her eyes, aiming at the merman, ready to shoot the him. "N-no! Peter stop!"
The merman turned to Peter and Peter let go of the arrow from the bow without any hesitation. But before the arrow could hit the merman, Madeline kicked him into the water. Making herself fall into the deeper part of the river.
"MADELINE!"
Maddie couldn't swim to the surface due to the rapids. And she hit herself on a rock, loosing her consciousness.
Peter jumped into the river and found Madeline fainted. He quickly pulled her to the bank. "Hey! Princess! Wake up!" He tapped her cheeks. "Wake up!"
Madeline still didn't woke up, so Peter decided to CPR her. "Wake up, princess." He whispered to her. Every second she doesn't respond, makes Peter's heart race.
"Please."
The girl finally coughed out the water and gained consciousness. Peter sighed in relief. He actually thought he lost her.
Madeline looked at Peter and immediately pushed him away. Peter was surprised at what she did. "Woah, what's the matter? I just saved your life, to inform you."
Maddie glared at him, "Saved me? I wouldn't have drowned if you didn't shoot him!" Peter scoffed. "If I didn't shoot him you would have been dead from his choke."
"I wouldn't have been choked if he didn't have any complications with a boy named Peter Pan!"
"You wouldn't have to know if he has any complications with my name if you didn't help him!"
"Well I wouldn't need to help him if he wasn't wounded!"
"And you wouldn't need to care if he's wounded if you just stayed back in camp!"
"But if I stayed back in camp, I wouldn't find out that you shot that poor creature and would have killed him!"
Peter went silent. "It was an accident." He hissed. "You still shot him." Madeline hissed back. "Well I believe it's none of your business if I shot him." Maddie gasped. "So you did shot him! How could you?!"
"It was an accident! And it's none of your concern, princess! Is your arse on fire and you just can't stay still in camp?!" He yelled at Madeline. "Just get to the point and tell me I'm a prisoner here!" Maddie yelled back at him.
"Well if that's what you want then I'll be glad to tell you that you staying in camp is not a request but an order!"
"Then you should have made a cage to put your prisoners in place, your highness!" Maddie sarcastically said. "Then you're sleeping on a cage tonight!" Peter warned her. "With pleasure!"
"Why are shouting?" Felix asked. He decided to check out what was happening because of all the shouting that could be even heard to the other realms and woke the boys up.
"It's none of your business!" The both of them yelled at him. Felix was surprised. "Alright, alright! I just wanted to let you know that your screamings woke the boys up and probably all of the realms."
Madeline was panting. She glared at Peter and so did he. She rolled her eyes and made her way back to camp, soaking wet. And furious.
Peter sharply sighed. Felix took the bucket and quickly fetched water. "There. It isn't that hard." Peter rolled his eyes and also went back to camp.
"Huh, I guess they're sleeping alone tonight." He scoffed.
