"My Apologies"
"She's asleep." Felix said as he came out of the cabin, he went to check on Madeline, whom he found sleeping quietly. The Lost Boys waited outside, curious of how Madeline is.
From a sunny day, the sky turned gray. Soon, the land will be covered with gray clouds, ready to rain anytime. They all knew the princess must be feeling like those gloomy clouds.
"Will she be alright?" Little Scott asked. Felix ruffled his hair, "Of course she will. She's Madeline, remember?" The Lost Boys nodded.
Pan walked out of the trees and found them all standing outside their cabin. They all stared at him as he walked away again.
"Did they fight?" Devin asked Felix. "We don't know. But whatever happened between the two of them and with that bloody mermaid, did not go well." Felix said before walking after Peter. Everyone knows where he's headed, but no one ever dared following him when he wants to be alone. Except for Felix, who was the first boy he brought to Neverland and been his first friend.
"You know, I can tell the boys to go fishing and we'll roast some fish tonight."
"What are you doing here, Felix?" Peter sluggishly said as he lean on the tree. Felix stared at him for a minute and decided to sit beside him. "She fell asleep. Probably after crying."
"I didn't asked!"
"But you're curious."
Peter fell silent. He was about to follow Maddie inside their cabin but the Lost Boys got there first. And he felt guilty just seeing her teary eyed.
And he doesn't even know why. Because Peter Pan never feels guilty. Not even when he abandoned his own son, Rumplestiltskin.
"I don't know if wether I should be flattered or scared when she told me she'll choose me." Peter confessed. He leaned on his thinking tree. It was a very significant place to him.
It is where he traded his boy for his youth. For power. And that's why he would do anything to save that power. Even if it means to kill.
But what he felt earlier when he heard Madeline said that she'll choose him, made fear slowly creep him up. His heart raced like they were on a contest. And he never ever felt that way before. It felt good. Too good.
And that's what he feared the most. Attaching himself to someone. The last person he looked after was his son. He doesn't mind about the Lost Boys, they can and should take care of themselves after choosing to go with him.
"You like her."
"No, I don't." He firmly said. "I'm just glad that we're finally getting the princess. She chose me, it means she decided to stay in Neverland."
Felix rolled his eyes. Then an idea came into Peter Pan's mind. His thinking tree reminded him about his love for power, and that's what he needed. A reminder.
He suddenly got up. "What is it, Pan? You're finally going to apologize to her?" Felix asked.
"Yes, Felix. And I'll never give her a headache ever again." He smiled. Felix was surprised to see that look on him. That was the same look he had before meeting Madeline. The same look when he knows his plan will work. The very same of a man drunk in power.
