"Chosen You"

Did you really think that I won't know what you're up to?" Pan scoffed as he looked at the both of them.

"You don't own her, Pan. You don't own anyone. You're not the one to decide wether she leaves or not." Flynn said through gritted teeth.

Pan laughed mockingly. "She's mine. She has always been mine." Madeline looked at him, chills spreading throughout her body as Pan says every word.

If looks could kill, Pan and Flynn would have killed each other already. But Madeline was standing between them, so they can't use their powers without hurting the princess, which they don't want to happen.

"We'll see about that, Pan." Flynn said. He lend out his hand again to the princess. "Madeline, come with me. Let's leave. Let's get you home."

"Home is with me. Here in Neverland. You belong with me, Madeline." Pan said and also lend out his hand to her. Madeline was now confused on who's hand she's going to take.

Flynn's hand, who will get her home back to her family. Or Peter Pan's, and stay in Neverland with the Lost Boys. And of course, with Peter Pan, whom she believes can still change.

But deep down, she knows she'll choose him.

"You're hesitating." Pan said. "I-uh," Madeline stutters and looked at Flynn.

Peter glared at the merman and thought that she will choose him. It was the moment he felt scared.

Scared that she will leave him.

"Madeline-"

"Let her choose, Pan!" Flynn interrupted. "Oh, I will let her choose, fishy. I'll help her." He looked at the girl.

"What?"

Pan flicked his hand and a crossbow appeared. Madeline and Flynn was both surprised. If Pan wants to get dirty, he'll get dirty.

"Peter, put that down!" Madeline said, standing between him and Flynn. She knows he won't hesitate to shoot, but she'll still try. "Why, love? I'm trying to help you choose. You're having a hard time choosing between me and that fish."

Flynn scoffed at the word fish. "So I'll help you, by eliminating one." Peter said and aimed at Flynn.

"Peter, no!" Madeline stood before Flynn. "You don't have to do this, Peter. Just ask. You don't have to do it by force." She said, slowly taking a step forward.

"What's wrong, Pan? What's stopping you? Are you afraid showing your true colors?" Flynn said. "Flynn! Stop it you're not helping!" Madeline hissed and turned back to Peter.

Peter smirked. "I'm not afraid showing my true colors, fishy. Because I never tried hiding them."

He gripped the trigger and let the arrow loose, but before it could hit Flynn, Madeline stood before him and it scratched her arm. "Flynn, GO!"

Before the arrow could reach Flynn, he already swam underwater. Peter tried going after him, but he was too late. He turned to Madeline and saw her holding her arm, stopping it from bleeding.

"Why did you did that?! You know you could get hurt!" He snapped at him. But Madeline only looked at Peter, hurt visible in her eyes.

"But it all won't happen if you just took my hand!" Peter kept saying, hoping Madeline would argue back. But she didn't. And that's what confuses him.

"Madeline-"

Maddie stepped back, refusing getting near him. "I could have chosen you." She mumbled. "What?"

She looked at him, with tears in his eyes. "I could have taken your hand, Peter. If only you asked." Tears fell from her eyes. "But I heard him telling you what I can do. That I'm nothing but a villain. And because of that, I-"

"You were afraid I'll take his hand and leave you. If you heard our conversation, then you probably have heard what I said." Madeline interrupted. "I'm not the kind of person who believes in what other people says, Peter. Not when I know something about that person that they don't know."

"And what is that? That I have goodness in me? That I can change?" Peter mockingly said. "Yes!" Madeline nodded.

He laughed sarcastically. "I've been like this for hundreds of years, princess. I think it's a little too late for me. And I don't think I can just change because I met a pretty girl. I met countless before. What makes you think you're different?"

Hearing Peter's words was like stabbing Madeline's heart. "It's never too late to change if you're still breathing. And that is, if you wish to change." She turned her back to him.

"Oh." She stopped. "Since you met countless girls before, I wonder if you brought all of them in Neverland."

"You were the only one I personally brought here." Peter said. "Oh really? That means you brought some, but not personally."

"I don't get what you mean." Peter said, getting confused with her point. "I'm just asking. Because, it really confuses me." She glanced back at Peter, "What makes me any different that you have to personally get me."

The Lost Boys arrived and saw Madeline leaving. That means she's staying with them. They were about to jump at her, rejoicing, when they noticed her cheeks were wet and her eyes were red, that looked like she cried.

Madeline walked past them, heading straight back to camp. They all looked back at Peter, who was watching Madeline leave, his hands balled up into a fist. And it was all clear, they had a fight.

Madeline entered their cabin. It was a good thing the boys didn't bother asking what happened and let her leave quietly. She wouldn't know if she can hold the tears back from falling.

She slammed herself on the bed and sobbed. Her screaming and crying muffled in the pillows. She knows she'll choose Peter even if it means not returning home. She was hoping he could change for the better. It must be a thing she adapted from the Charmings.

Now, she doesn't know if it's all just blind faith or stupidity that a veteran villain can change.

And she doesn't know if what hurts her the most. Peter telling her that he won't change. Or him telling her that she's no different from the girls he met before. Why would it have affect on her anyway?

Maddie cried so hard that she ended up sleeping. It's always better to sleep. It makes you all forget your troubles and worries.

But you can't escape all of it, because eventually, you'll wake up. And you'll have to face it all again.
