"Indian Princess"

The red head princess pushed through the thick bushes as she walk through the gloomy forest of Dark Hollows. She found the tracks Nathan told her earlier and followed it, deeper into the forest.

Nathan told her the Indian princess got a letter from Peter Pan telling they will run away. Madeline frowned remembering what he said.

"What a douchebag." She mumbled. But she's wondering why would they want to meet in a very dark forest. Probably so that no one can see them. He's Peter Pan afterall.

"Tss."

She suddenly heard someone sneeze and she froze. She hid behind a tree and peaked behind it. A large net was hangin on a tree and it wasn't empty. A girl was trapped inside.

She looked around and everything was clear. She slowly walked towards it and tried getting her attention. "Psst. Psst. Hey!"

The girl saw her and gasped. "Please, help me! I got trapped in here and there's a beast!"

"Okay, okay. I'll cut off the rope and let you down, you guard and tell me if this beast is near, alright?" Madeline says. The girl nodded.

She grabbed her dagger and went to start cutting the rope. "Can you make it quick? What if the beast comes back and catches us?" The girl said, starting to get impatient. "I'm trying to."

"Can you just use your sword and cut if off already?" The girl insists. "Do you want to fall off hard?" Madeline asked. "I don't care if I fall hard, just- AAH!"

Madeline cut off the rope using her sword and the girl fell. She sighed and put back her sword on its scabbard.

The girl got up and was furious. "Why did you do that?! That hurts!" Madeline scoffed. "You told me to cut it off, so I did."

"Well, you should have told me!"

"Shh!"

"Don't 'shh' me! Don't you know who-"

"No. Something's here. Hide." Madeline took her bow and arrow and waited. The girl immediately hid behind a tree. A booming roar echoed through the forest. And if a weak heart heard it, it would probably have fainted.

"That's the beast." The girl said. Madeline gulped. She haven't faced any kind of magical beast before and she doesn't even know what this one looked like. Does it have a lot of fangs? Red glowing eyes? Large body? Many heads?

But whatever it is, she won't hesitate to shoot it if it decides to harm her. "Hey, Indian girl." She called out to the girl. She knows she's one of the Indian tribe because of her outfit. "If I tell you to run, run immediately out of here."

"Alright. You won't die, right?" She asked. "I don't know."

Another roar was heard and it was closer. Madeline prepared her weapon. The beast jumped out of the trees. It was huge and had red glowing eyes. It had striped gray fur and a broad head. It also had a long scaly tail like a rat or possum. It was growling and looking at Madeline.

"Shoot it! Go, shoot it!" The girl behind the tree shouted. But Madeline stood there, frozen. The beast was staring at her directly at her eyes, like it was trying to communicate with her.

She slowly lowered her bow and reached out her hand to it. The beast stood still and was starting to calm down. Its eyes are starting to change color.

Her hand almost touched its head when it suddenly roared when a rock hit its head. Madeline stepped back in surprise and stumbled.

"Madeline!"

She turned back and saw Peter Pan and the Lost Boys coming. They started shooting it. An arrow hit the beast and it howled. It ran back to the forest, but before it could leave, it turned back and looked at Madeline.

Madeline knew that it was harmless. It was trying to tell her something. And she knew she needed to know that.

"Madeline, are you alright? Are you hurt? Tell me!" Peter helped her stand. "I'm fine, Peter. I just-" Madeline didn't finished her sentence when Peter hugged her out of nowhere.

"Remind me to never leave you out of my sight." He said. "Wouldn't I feel pretty awkward with that?" She said. Peter thought for a second and she was right. "Right. Just, next time, if you plan on escaping, head right to camp, alright?"

"You think there will be a next time?!" Madeline shrieked. "No, of course not. I'll kill the next one who tries taking you away from me." Peter seriously said. Madeline went silent. She knows she shouldn't she flattered when he said 'try taking her away from him', but she can't help it.

But then she remembered why she was in that dark forest in the first place. She turned to Peter but the girl she rescued earlier jumped into him.

"Peter! You're here! You rescued me!" She kept hugging him. Madeline's eyes widened in surprise.

Peter tried taking off the girl's arms around him. "Let go, Lily." He gritted. "Did you miss me? I knew you would come here and rescue me." She kept saying. "I'm not here for you."

"Lily?" Madeline said. Both of them looked at her. "You mean Tiger Lily, the Indian Princess?"

"Yes. I thought you didn't know me, that's good. Good for you." She said. Madeline scoffed in disbelief. "Oh, right. Thank you for helping me out earlier. My Peter wouldn't have to see me in that ugly state."

"My Peter. Wow. I didn't know you two were together." Madeline looked at Peter. "We're not." Peter said.

"Yah, I don't think so. You see, that's why we're here in the first place. It looks like you stood the princess here in you 'running away'." She sarcastically said.

Before Peter could say anything, the Indians already arrived with Nathan. "Princess!" He smiled when he saw Tiger Lily. "I'm glad you're alright."

"Of course, I'm alright. Peter is here." Tiger Lily clutched into Peter's arm. Madeline saw it and looked away. Peter sighed in frustration.

Nathan turned to Madeline and took her hands. Peter was surprised when he did that.

"Thank you, Madeline." He smiled. "I'm glad I could help."

"There will be a celebration back at the tribe. You need to be there. Afterall, you rescued the princess." Nathan said. "It was Peter who saved us. If he didn't come here in time, maybe, we would have been the beast's dinner." Tiger Lily said, looking at Madeline.

They stared at Tiger Lily. It was quite clear to Madeline. The Indian princess does really have feelings for Peter Pan. But she doesn't know if Peter also feels the same.

And she got that itsy bitsy hope that he doesn't.

"Alright. Um, I just hope Kaw Chief doesn't feed me to anyone when I got there."
