Chapter seven

                We fall in love by chance
                We stay in love by choice

Scarlett's POV

Five years ago

I actually believed Mason would change if he finds out that I was pregnant. I was a fool for believing that, even after what he put me through I actually still loved him,I believed he could change.i believe he would change for our baby.

"Mason I need to talk to you"He looks up at me and I flinch back on instinct. "Are you going to stand there and stare or will you talk"

"Uhm...Mason...I am..."He stands and grabs my hair hard."Are you here to waste my time or do you have something to say"He sneers in my face.

"I am pregnant Mason"I didn't know what I was expecting but the expression on his face was definitely not what I was expecting."what did you say"

"I am pregnant Mason,you are going to be a father"

I was shocked to my bones when he says his next words."I never thought you could be so despicable,claiming that thing belongs to me when you have been so obviously whoring around with other men."

"What do you mean Mason"

"Don't you dear call my name,get rid of that baby"he releases my hair and I move backward in fear.

"I can't Mason the baby is yours, believe me...I love you Mason"He moves to me and slaps me across the face.

"Get out of my side,and get rid of that baby".

I thought Mason was just taking the loss of his job hard that was why he was angry all the time but him denying his own child was the last straw for me so I left the house and stayed with Samantha.

I stayed with Samantha for two weeks without hearing any word from Mason.Samantha was horrified when I first told her about the way Mason treated me,she tried to confront him but I stopped her.

"Scar you have to divorce him,you can't possibly Love him after all what he has done to you."

"We have been talking about this for the past two weeks Sam,I love him. You don't understand Sam I can't leave him,I love him,I know he loves me,he is just going through a bad time."

"Have you looked at your body in the mirror?"she asks,"no offense but you look terrible is that him loving you, you are crazy if you think that man still loves you,what has gotten over you,you have to think about your baby also,you can't possibly raise a child in an abusive home,what if he hits your child,what if he kills you.That man is crazy Scar you have to leave him,please Scar you can stay with me for as long as you want but please don't go back to him."she says while looking at me deeply.

"I can't Sam he will change,I know that he will change"she is about to respond but the sound of my phone ringing pierce through the hair. I pick my phone up and Mason's name flashes on the screen.

"It's Mason"I whisper to Sam.

"Ignore it"she says but I don't listen.

"Hello"

"Honey,where are you?am sorry please come back,I miss you"Sam snorts.

"Please come back home"

"Okay..."I wanted to tell him that I loved him but Samantha grabs my phone and disconnect the call."what the hell is wrong with you"she cries out loudly."I never thought I will see the day where I get to call you a stupid person Scar,what has gotten into you,how could you possibly want to go back to that man,I don't even know who you are anymore. Come to your damn senses Samantha,he will kill you think about your baby,your baby's life is at stake here"

"You don't understand Samantha am leaving."

"Fine go, but don't come crying back to me when the love of your life beats you."she yells.

The moments I enter into the house he grabs me and throws me on the floor.making me groan loudly."where the hell have you been,bitch,you think you could leave the house whenever you feel like it."He moves closer to me awaiting his strike I put my hand round my stomach,he bends down and holds my face and much to my surprise he crashes his lips on my mouth. I start to struggle and he delivers a blow to my nose,he scowls stands up and start to kick me"Mason please you are hurting me,i am sorry please stop."I feel an excruciating pain in my stomach so I cry out and I feel something liquid trailing out from under me,I reach down and feel something sticky in my hands.i raise my hand up and cry out when I see blood."Bl...ood...my baby."

"When I come back you better have cleared up this mess or you will regret it"he says leaving the house and slamming the door."

The pain I felt was to much I couldn't take it. I scrambled to my bag despite the pain I felt and i take my phone dialling Samantha number.

"Samantha help me there is to much blood,help me...my baby."

"Am coming Scar,wait for me."

I probably passed out while waiting for Samantha because I wake up to the sound beeping,groaning loudly I open my eyes only to close them back because of the light shining through the curtains.

"Scar are you okay?you can open your eyes now."

"Where am I?"

"The hospital,are you okay?do you feel any pain, should I call the doctor"she rushes out.

"I am okay...my...my baby how is my baby."

"Your baby is safe."I breath out a sigh in relief."The doctor saw the bruises Scar he is coming back to ask questions,his sorry ass will probably get thrown to jail,I warned you Scarlett you put your baby's life in danger.Is this enough reason for you to dump his ass"I shake my head profusely."He didn't mean to,he was just angry because I left him for so long,he will realize his mistake and apologize. I can't tell the doctor anything,i want to leave now,let's go...take me home please Sam don't argue with me over this I want to go home."

"Why are you doing this to yourself,why Scar,why?I am going to tell the doctor about Mason he will be arrested and taken to jail maybe then you will come to your senses"I grab her hand when she stands."Samantha you can't do that please you are my friend,you can't do this to me. I am leaving."

"Scar you need help why are you doing this to yourself,why...what has gotten into you."

I couldn't answer her but I knew that deep down that I was head over heels in love with Mason I couldn't bear the thought of  living without him.
