Scarlett's POV

Six years ago

I was ecstatic,Mason called me to inform that he has gotten a new job,I was over the moon after he told me. I thought all the beating was going to stop but I was clearly wrong.i called Samantha and she picked on the first wrong.

"Samantha."I squeal

"My ears Scar...why are you so happy.?"she asks.

"Mason..."she interrupts."hold it right there Sam don't tell me you are happy because of that fool."

"He is not a fool Sam and you should watch the way you speak about him,he is my husband."she laughs."your husband indeed,a very perfect husband might I add."she replies sarcastically.

"I don't have time to argue to with you...Mason has gotten a new job."I receive silence."Sam are you still there."

"What has that got to do with anything Scar?"she asked

"Are you not even listening to me Sam,Mason has gotten a new job so he will stop hitting me."

"What makes you think he will stop Scar."

"He started hitting me when he lost his job Sam,now that he has a new job,he will stop."

"Why must you be so gullible Scarlett,he won't stop,he will never stop."

"It was my fault he lost his job in the first place."

"How is it your fault Scar,did you sack him?why do you always say that it's your fault?"she asks.

"It's my fault Scar,I forgot to wake him up that day and he got late to work."

"What has gotten into you Scarlett?"

"You won't understand Sam"

"I won't understand what,Scar I don't know what has gotten into you but you need help,so you think because you forgot to wake him up he lost his job,we were working at the same place Scar and he was slacking off at work,that is why he was sacked,it is not your fault Scar,he was not taking his work seriously."

"That's not true Scar,I have to go now,Mason said we were going to a restaurant for dinner,u will talk to you later."

"Take care of yourself Scar and call me if you need anything."

"Thanks Sam."

I wore a nice gown excited for Mason to arrive home. The gown was his favorite and I knew he will be happy once he sees me wearing it.

The door opens and Mason enters,I walk up to him and I throw my hands around him."Mason I am so happy for you."

"Where is my food Scarlett."he asked glaring at me.

To say that I was shocked would be an understatement.

"Mason,you said we were going to have eat in a restaurant tonight,i did not cook anything Mason."

He grabs my hand and twists it making pain shoot up my entire arm."what makes you think I would take you to a restaurant."

"Mason please,you are hurting me,you said you were going to take me out."he kicks me to the floor and bends grabbing a chunk of my hair."you will go to the kitchen now,make my food and you will bring it to me."He stands up,kicks my stomach and leave me a sobbing mess on the floor.

Nathaniel's POV

Today is the day the contract with Mr White will be legalized,I was looking forward to signing the contract. It took month of convincing before Mr White before he finally agreed to the contract and the stress was finally taking a hold of me,there was bags under my eyes due to lack of sleep,and the amount of coffee I took during that period of time was taking a toll on me.

"Mrs Hannah is here to talk to you."my secretary says through the intercom.

"Okay,send her in."

Hannah walks into my office with a frown on her face and she plops down on a chair in my office.

"Nathan what are you doing to yourself?you look terrible."she says reaching for a pen on my desk.

"Hello to you too Hannah."

"You shouldn't work all the time."she says with a worried expression on her face

"I am fine Hannah."

"You are not fine Nathan,you have bags under your eyes,you need to take care of yourself, mother will be so heartbroken if she sees you like this."she replied reaching for my hands.

"You don't need to worry about me Hannah,I will be fine,now why did you come here."she places her hand on her chest."I am offended,can't I come to see my favorite brother anytime I want"the fact that she regarded me as her brother gets to me anytime she says it."Stop with the drama,I know you Hannah,you obvious you came here for something,what do you want Hannah."

Travis has been avoiding my calls."I raise my eyebrow in confusion."sometimes i wonder why you are a business man,you know it's time for him to babysit Annie and George so he has been avoiding my calls intentionally."

"You Know he is always busy Hannah and I am sure John and Stella will be happy to take care of them for you while you are away."

"Busy indeed,my friend told me she saw him at the bar on Tuesday,he is to busy to answer my phone calls but not to busy to go to the bar and you know how Annie and George can be,it will be to stressful for mother and father."

"Stella loves them she won't complain and you know Travis is busy with his work."

"He volunteered to always take care of them when my husband and I are going for our anniversary. I did not ask him to."

Travis saw how stressed she was when he told her that he will take care of them,I am sure he must be regretting his decision now.

"So what has Travis not answering your phone calls got anything to do with me."I ask

"Easy,I will bring them to your office and you will take them to Travis's house for me."I groan."why can't you just take them to his office."

"I tried going to his office but his secretary kept telling me that he was not in his office.she was so rude and you know what happened the last time I took them to his office."

It was hilarious,She walked in on him having a meeting with his business associates and when she tried to take Annie and George outside, they ran into the room and hugged Travis calling him ridiculous names,it took a lot before Stella could drag them out from the room.

"Okay Hannah you can bring them here the day you are leaving and I will take them to Travis's house.

"Thanks Nathan,you are the best and you will always remain my favorite."she stands up and kissed me on my cheeks."I will see you later and don't forget to rest it I am telling mother"she said and walked out of my office.

I couldn't really blame Travis for ignoring Hannah's calls,Annie and George were a pain in the ass and Travis would have his hands full with them.
