caregiver: jaehyun
chenle was already having a rough night. he refused to sleep without jaehyun and wouldn't even close his eyes if the older male tried to put him down.
he ended up falling asleep while trying to climb onto jaehyuns bed. the older male smiled sadly at his anxious baby and picked him up to take him back to his room.
all went well for a couple hours, the house being silent and jaehyun playing a few random games on his phone. it was like that for about an hour and a half when the silence ended abruptly.
jaehyun heard whimpers coming from chenles room and assumed he had woken up. the caregiver got out of bed and walked into his littles room to find him asleep still but whining and rolling over.
the older male was pretty sure chenle was having a nightmare so he went over to the bed and crouched down, rubbing the baby's back gently.
"lele honey, can you wake up for me?"
he eventually woke up, the poor boy being a crying mess at this point. his breathing was too fast for comfort, jaehyun trying to calm him down some.
"sweetie it was just a dream. you're okay i promise. dadas got you baby boy."
the older male picked up the littles paci that was in his bed and put it in the baby's mouth.
"shh, bubba you're with dada. it's okay."
to say the least, chenle was terrified. he would flinch anytime he heard even the smallest sound, whether is was a car outside or a bird flying past the window.
"scawed dada..s-scawy man t-twy take lele.."
jaehyun pulled the boy into his arms and started rubbing his back in slow circles.
"i know baby, i know. but i promise it was just a dream. there's no scary man bubba, you're safe."
for the rest of the night, chenle stayed cuddled up in his caregivers arms. he fell back asleep rather quickly, jaehyun falling asleep soon after.
