That night, Steve and Eviana stayed at a nearby hotel. It wasn't the most luxurious building like the ones she was used to, but it didn't matter to them. He even offered to make them coffee, but she declined. Eviana stared outside the balcony, with her arms crossed over her chest. She closed her eyes and let the wind hit her face. She missed being able to enjoy the outdoors without having someone close to her.

Steve noticed how relaxed she was. It was as of she didn't care what would happen to her. He approached her, placing his head on the crook of her neck, placing a small kiss. He lifted his head to see her reaction, a small smile.

"You should go to bed, Agent Murphy." Eviana mumbled once she opened her eyes.

Steve ignored her request. "What's your favorite movie?"

Eviana chuckled, shaking her head and turning to face him. "Is this your idea of getting to know each other? Well, if you really wanna know, my favorite movie is 'Taxi Driver', you know, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro. I find it brilliantly shot."

"Never found you for the psychological thriller type. Then again I did meet you not that long ago." Steve laughed. "I'm mentally making a list of all the movies you and i," He pointed at her and then to himself. "Should see together."

Eviana giggled at his behavior. "Oh really?" Steve nodded tiredly. "May I ask what this movie list consists of?"

"That's for me to find out and for you to- wait, fuck! I said it wrong."

Before the clock struck six, Eviana was no longer with Steve. She had made her grand exit at five in the morning, her black leather go go boots that Pacho had bought her on her birthday were in her hand so she was only in her socks. She made her way into her friend's workplace, a restaurant a few blocks from the hotel.

"Ma'am, for the last time, we don't serve lunch at this hour! We serve breakfast only!" Corina raised her voice at a female customer. "Richie! Come handle this bitch!" She yelled at her co-worker before leaving to hug Eviana. "Look at you! You were supposed to see me yesterday!"

Eviana nodded. "I know, I know. But I had sort of a detour." She trailed off.

Corina gasped. "Who was it? Was it some rich tourist? I need to know every detail!" She led Eviana to an empty table and sat down across from her. "Well maybe not every detail, but you get the point."

Eviana chuckled at her friend. Corina had stuck with her through thick and thin. Corina was with her when Eviana needed a place to stay after she ran away during a fight she had with her dad. The next day, Pacho came by to make sure Eviana was okay so she could go back home. Pacho thanked Corina for keeping his sister safe and gave her a good amount of cash even after Corina refused it.

"We didn't sleep together, we technically we did, but not like sleep sleep together-"

"So you didn't fuck?" Corina raised an eyebrow.

Eviana sighed in defeat. "Yeah, we didn't fuck. We just slept in the same bed together and I liked it." She finished with a smile. "But I can't go back to him."

"Evi, we both know when you like someone, you do everything you can to be with that person."

"Rina, he's a DEA agent." Corina let out an exaggerated gasp.

"Oh, man! Yeah, I don't see how you're going to get out of that one." Corina playfully said. She grabbed Eviana's hand and squeezed it. "I know you spent one night with mister law enforcement, but do you see yourself with him, like hanging out and shit?"

Eviana didn't even know if Steve wanted that. He probably only got close to her because of her connection with the Cali cartel, but then again, she was the one who started talking to him. She didn't even know what she wanted at that point. Her last relationship ended fine, mutual breakup, still friends. Perfectly fine. But that was three years ago. She hadn't been on a proper date since then. Sure, she had her fair share of one night stands, but she felt like she deserved better than that.

Maybe Steve Murphy was that something better.
