Steve's hands made their way to his face, rubbing his tired eyes. His knuckles were still a bit red and he didn't look the same as he did when he first got to Colombia. He looks tired all the time. Javier Peña noticed it immediately. They were partners after all. Speaking of partners, they were currently listening to audio of one of Pablo's sicarios, Velasco, talking to a woman.

"What's the deal with the other call?" Steve asked, pacing around the office.

Edward Jacoby played another audio, which was difficult to understand, but it still played. "The quality's too poor for voice recognition." He informed the agents before they exited the office with frowns.

Javi wondered if his partner was in the right state of mind to even be back at work. Sure they needed to catch Pablo Escobar, but Steve was determined to go back to work and catch the criminal. As the agents, Messina, Jacoby and Trujillo looked at a map work possible locations of Pablo's whereabouts, Steve tried his best to stay alert, but his mind would wonder what Eviana was doing at that very moment. Probably being the best mom to Mateo.

As Messina said she would handle Pinzón, Steve sat back down in his chair. He hoped they were one step closer to putting Pablo Escobar in handcuffs and a real jail this time. He sighed heavily, raising both his feet up onto the desk that was filled with stacks of paperwork. The two partners remained silent until they heard heels clicking down a hallway which meant Messina was done talking to Pinzón.

Javi turned his attention towards the woman while Steve was convinced she had finally cracked.

"What did he say?" Javi asked.

Messina held her head up, continuing her walk to an office. "He said no."

Steve smirked as he went over a file. Messina entered an office and grabbed the phone. "Oh, she's not gonna last. She gives up pretty fuckin' easy." He chuckled at the woman.

But Messina didn't give up easy. She called Crosby. Crosby called Gaviria. And in less than 15 minutes. . . Pinzón was getting a kick in the ass.

I guess everybody works for somebody.

Eviana layed Mateo down on his crib. She smiled at the baby boy and stroked his small cheek with her thumb, which made the boy babble. "You're a sleepy baby now, right? Time for sleep, Mateo." She whispered quietly and grabbed a small blue blanket, gifted by Navegante, and gently placed it over her son. It was as if Mateo knew what his mom was talking about because right when Eviana placed the blanket over him, his eyes started to slowly close and soon Mateo was silent and sleeping.

Eviana grabbed the rocking chair from the corner of the room and dragged it to the side of the crib. She sat in it and gently rocked back and forth while looking at her son. He looked so peaceful. She just hoped their life would stay that way.

"I think we cam finally show you dad a picture of you, Mateo." She said in a low voice, not wanting to disturb the sleeping baby. "He'd like that very much actually." She looked down at her hands, playing with the rings on her fingers. Her eyes lingered on the ring that Miguel Ángel had given her.

"He loves you so much, my beautiful boy. I don't know when you'll finally meet or even if you'll get the chance. But I hope you know that you're loved so much by him." Eviana wiped away a tear from her eyes with her sleeve. "You're loved by so many people, baby. I love you so much."

Truth was. . . Eviana would give her life for her son. Just like any other mother, they would protect their children to the very end. When she was younger, she didn't understand that. Her mother never showed signs of wanting to protect her. Pacho always did that. Pacho was always the one to protect her from all the bad stuff in the world that the siblings grew up around. Pacho was their protector and now Pacho was Mateo's.

The second Pacho layed eyes on his nephew, he swore that he would do anything to protect him. Mateo was his blood. He hoped that Mateo wouldn't grow up to be the same person he or Miguel Ángel are. He could be better. Grow up to be someone in life that would be important. A doctor, lawyer, surgeon, etc. Be someone that Pacho or Miguel never got the chance to be.

A terrible tragedy had occurred. Several of Colombian police had been killed by Pablo's sicarios in plain daylight. President Gaviria visited the graves of the fallen men, feeling guilty. He could've done something to prevent those events, he thought. But he didn't.

Eviana heard the news on TV after making breakfast for her and Pacho. She stood in the living room, shocked by what she was seeing. She hoped Steve or Javi weren't injured. She kept watching the TV until from behind her, Pacho shut it off.

"I was watching that." She mumbled, leaving the living room to the kitchen and drinking her lemonade quietly.

"Well, now you're not." Pacho responded. He made his way into the kitchen, leaning on the counter. He noticed that his sister was too quiet even before she turned on the news channel. "How did you sleep?" He asked.

She put the mug of lemonade down, clearing her throat as she did. "Fine, thank you."

"I'm sure Mateo enjoyed your company the whole night. You two could be sleeping buddies." Pacho smiled. He woke up earlier than her and when he went up to Mateo's nursery, he was welcomed by Eviana's sleeping figure on the rocking chair and her drool coming down her mouth.

"He did, actually. He told me it's better than yours. You talk in your sleep sometimes." She cracked a smile, something Pacho had been waiting for. "I think it's time for Miguel to know about Mateo. A picture. I took a few, but I don't know which ones to send him."

Pacho could tell that was eating up Eviana. Everytime she talked about Miguel, she acted differently. She would be less enthusiastic, keep to herself, barely make eye contact. It was a touchy subject and Pacho was surprised she even said his name.

"Send them all if you want. I'm sure he'll appreciate them. Mateo is the cutest baby I've ever seen. It would be wrong not to share the cuteness." Pacho grabbed an apple from the basket of fruit next to him and bit into it. "I just want to know if you're completely ready for that. It's okay if you aren't."

"I'm sure. He needs to know. He's Mateo's dad, I don't want to separate them from being with each other even if he's not physically here." Eviana looked at Pacho with sad eyes. "I want my son to know his dad."

Pacho nodded, supporting his sister in her decision. He wasn't against it. He wanted what was best for Mateo too and if it meant breaking a few rules for Mateo to meet his dad then he was ready to take that decision.
