"What have you done..."

"I... I didn't mean to, he forced me-"

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!"

The boy shouted in anger as his arms held a girl who was special to him, his hands covered in blood. The other female, filled with shock, knife in hand, tried to explain her reason.

"He forced me too! It wasn't my fault, Amaro's the one to blame!" She cried out, tears threatening to fall as she was shaken up from fear. "Liar... Traitor! You knew how much you hated her, Alana! You couldn't handle the greed that was within you. You killed her!" The boy shouted, his eyes sparked as if they were in flames. "It's your fault for doing this, it's your fault for helping the enemy, it's your fault for betraying. Her. Trust!" The ground shook as flames surrounded the boy and his friend, leaving Alana and the rest of their friends outside the circle.

"Chase, that's enough. We can still save Mila, just calm down!" A boy spoke, trying to approach the circled flame. The girl in Chase's arms slowly breathes in and out, her Almond skin now slowly being engulfed by black glowing marks, "Save her? With the knife Alana pierced her heart with, it's over! No one can survive that type of magic, magic that she got from Amaro himself!" Tears covered Chase's, but soon evaporated once hitting the hot, scorching ground. "She's not one of us. After what she did, she deserves to be exiled! Left to rot! She killed the one I-"

"Chase..." A feminine voice spoke below him. He looked down to see his friend, tears brimming her eyes as she is almost engulfed by the black marks. "Please... It's not Alana's fault... I should be the one to blame." "What are you talking about? She betrayed us. We're going to lose you! ... I-I'm going to lose you." He looked at her, tears flowing as he cried for his best friend to not die, to not be taken by death itself.

"I know, I know... But I should have been more careful. I should've been there for her more than the rest. It doesn't matter how much a person hates you, you must love your enemy and help them find a better path... I was too late to do that for her." Mila spoke, the wind softly blowing as it slowly diminished the fire circle. She placed her hand against her friend's cheek, smiling sadly as the marks were now enclosing to her face. Her jet black hair stuck to her face because of the tears she shed from her sapphire eyes. "It's gonna be okay, Chase. Even though I'll be gone, I'll still be by your side, always. Like before in our adventures together with the rest. Heh, I'll never forget the time you fell off that cliff. I had to fly down to catch you, idiot." She laughed a bit, more tears falling from her face. Chase chuckled sadly, remembering the faint memory. "Yeah, I guess I was an idiot back then..." His face then turned slowly into one of grief. He hugged his friend tightly, not wanting to let go of her. "I don't want you to go, Mila. We still have so much to say, so much to do. Why did it have to happen like this?!" He cried out, his flames turning into a blue color.

"Life is unexpected as always. We just... Have to find the little things that are good in it. Our friendship, our memories, our fun... But, at the end of the day when death comes, we have to learn that we'll have to let go too. As much as it hurts, we can't let the pain stay there." Mila too didn't want to let go, but soon, her body started to turn into particles. "I have to go... I'm going to miss everyone, including you... I'll never forget you, and remember that I'll always be by your side." "No... Please, just stay with me! Please..." He pleaded for minutes, and when he opened his eyes, he saw that he held no one, just glowing particles that floated off into the sky, disappearing in the distance. "No... No!" He dropped onto his knees, punching the ground as he released his anger and cried out. He just lost his ally. He just lost his best friend.

... He just lost his chance to confess his love to her... And now it was too late...

Five Years Later

"Look out!" "They're here!" "We're all going to die!"

Village people scattered everywhere as dark shadowed monsters attacked everywhere. One with wings roared in might until it was then burned up in flames. The monster screeched in pain and horror as it was then punched into the ground by a boulder. All that was left was a pile of purple smoke. Once it disappeared, two boys landed onto the ground, then stood up. "Heh, you're getting better at this, Galen." One of the boys said. "Ah, well, I'm just learning from the best, which is you, Chase." The other boy, named Galen, said while smiling.

"Heh, yeah, yeah. I guess I did help you somewhat." He looked away, smirking. "... Which is mostly." "Hey!" Galen exclaimed. "I'm just joking! Calm down, Ga-" He was then interrupted as a monster threw him to the ground, pinning him down as it snarled. Just when it was about to end his life, it was then cut in half. It screeched loudly, then turned into a puff a smoke. Chase coughed as he looked up to see who saved him. He then held his breath. A tall, slender girl appeared before him, and he couldn't believe who he saw.

Almond skin... Long jet-black hair... Blue sapphire eyes...

"... Mila?"
