Holiday is a renowned Interior Design company that caters to small, medium, and large design projects around the Philippines. Creating for businesses, celebrities, families, and friends. Some of their best creations are seen in the islands of Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, and Siquijor, where tourists gather from all around the world.
The Holiday Team is full of unique individuals who make work feel lighter and brighter with sincere smiles and endless synergy. Although, not all days and projects are worry free, there will always be some days where the team seems to have run out of energy, but that's natural in any working environment.
Today, the office was bustling with the sounds of typing on keyboards, tapping of pens on desks, endless sighing, and stretching. Everyone fixed onto their computer screens, hard at work with their creative minds.
I sat behind my desk, staring out the window, when the sky turned into a beautiful ombré of peach, pink, purple, and blue.
"Sunsets are really pretty, huh? I wish I was like a sunset, colorful, mysterious, and loved by many."
That color scheme was popular many years ago, back when a certain group took the world by storm with their music and meaningful lyrics.
"I miss those days. I grew up way too fast." I thought to myself.
"Hey Jazzy!" Jen called me over to the meeting room. "What do you think of these colors for Mr. Gann's new cafe?" She pointed at the idea board covered in pictures of furniture, accents, and paint samples.
A wonderful combination of Olive Green and shades of Brown.
"Try adding hints of bronze and bright yellow to give more color," I suggested to Jen.
"Why didn't I think of that! You're amazing Jaz!" Jen exclaimed.
I let out a forced smile as I walked back to my desk.
Days seemed longer recently, not much excitement around, but I'm happy.
I mean, I studied hard, graduated with top results, landed a job in a renowned company, surrounded by amazing coworkers who are now more family than friends, friends outside of work, and my legitimate family. I even get to travel a lot for site visits and inspections. It's the little things that I enjoy, and it's already a big achievement to feel this way nearing my thirties.
"But I need a new adventure," I whispered to myself staring out the window once more.
"I miss them."
"I miss the crowds cheering, I miss their goofiness, I miss waving my light stick up in the air."
I started to tear up unexpectedly as I reminisced those moments of escalation.
Singing along to their performances and trying my best to keep up with their dances.
They pulled me out of my darkest days and made me learn to love myself, all at the same time pulling themselves out of their lowest points and learning to love themselves. It was magical, but it didn't last as long as they expected it to.
It's the end of the day and everyone began to pack up to leave for dinner and home, when notification sounds start ringing from everyone's phones and Kyle's computer.
"It's a notification for the company email!" Kyle exclaimed. The company email that everyone has access to in cases where Kyle is too busy somewhere else to read it.
Everyone dropped their bags, other things they held, and gathered to read the email together.
"Dear Holiday Designs," everyone read out loud.
"Korp Estates is looking forward to your reply," everyone finished reading out loud.
As everyone stared in amazement at the computer screen, the door to the office flung open to reveal a well-dressed and poised woman fabulously walking in.
"It is an opportunity to discover, learn, and experience! Plus take this as a holiday, a vacation, while doing work." the woman winked.
Miss Holly, the owner of Holiday Designs, a beautiful, passionate, and adventurous woman that loves to create and travel, and who happened to read the email on her way to the office now wants us to work out of our comfort zones and not even within our own country.
"So, who's up for the adventure?" Miss Holly asked excitedly.
Many of my coworkers were reluctant, thinking the offer was a scam. It did seem too good to be true. An almost vacation in South Korea in the season of spring, travel requirements and housing provided, did seem like a scam.
Nevertheless, I rose my hand, stood up, and said "I'm taking it!"
