Just as Taehyung helped me out of the pool, we heard someone shout from the other side of the place.
"Jungkook?!" The other girls were surprised to see him. I was too, but we said his name out loud and it was too late to take it back.
I looked at Taehyung, an angry and confused expression across his face.
"Taehyung," I grabbed his wrist.
"You all knew." His face grew angrier. "And you," he turned to me, "you knew, and you lied to me? I trusted you!" he swung his arm with force, making me lose my grasp of him.
"Taehyung!" I tried to grab his arm, but he pushed me aside and walked away.
"Jazzy, don't!" Colette grabbed me before I could run after him.
We could see him walk past Jungkook without taking a glance at him, and we could see Jungkook trying to stop him, but was ignored.
I watched him walk away, I hurt him. I dropped on the floor, soaking wet and let my tears fall. I shouldn't have lied to him, we shouldn't have kept it a secret, why did we have to?
Jimin ran after Taehyung, "Take care of Jazzy!" he told the others.
My tears wouldn't stop falling, the girls ran over to me trying their best to comfort me. They led me to take a seat in the patio. Colette grabbed a towel and put it over me. They did not say anything, they knew that I didn't need to be comforted with words then. I was thankful that they were there.
Half an hour later, my eyes were puffy and dry, but I still felt my heart shattering. Jimin came back with news that he found Taehyung upstairs in his apartment.
"He was mad, but he's cooled off already," Jimin sighed, "he won't join us for dinner." he took his seat beside Joanne and covered his face with both his hands.
"Hyung, I'm sorry." Jungkook apologized.
"It's my fault," Jimin said, "if I had told everyone ahead of time instead of relying on surprises." His face sunk deeper into his hands.
No one felt like touching the food. The atmosphere turned gloomy and no one knew what to say.
"I'm sorry this happened, girls." Jimin kept apologizing, but we didn't want to blame him. He had the best intentions of slowly bringing everyone together to have fun.
Joanne took his hands and held them in hers. I don't know how, but her action towards him lifted everyone's mood. Colette and Jane kept giggling on the side, lost in their own worlds. Fiona was asking Jungkook if he was okay, which I could overhear that he felt bad for showing up and Fiona comforting him.
I sat alone in the middle of it all, when my stomach started to make funny noises. I stood up and walked to the table, grabbed a piece of beef and ate silently, the rest followed. Everyone began to enjoy the food and quickly talked about different things.
I knew they wanted to talk about Taehyung, but he just needed more time. I wanted to see him, apologize to him. So I walked behind Jimin and whispered to him.
"Jimin, what floor is your apartment on, I'm going to check on him."
He whispered back saying that its on the tenth floor, he handed me a special card to access the elevator and his door.
I excused myself from the group and proceeded to Jimin's apartment.
I sighed in front of the door, "here I go," then tapped the card on the doorknob. I walked in to see how big Jimin's apartment really was and how well lit it was. It showed a different side of him, a more masculine side of him that not everyone knew about. For sure Joanne knew, she loved him since, and come to think of it, the girls mentioned how she visits him often.
I looked for Jimin's bedroom, in hopes that Taehyung would be there. The door was ajar and I saw a figure sitting on the bed. I opened the door wider. Taehyung sat on the edge of the bed, the curtains were open revealing the view of Jimin's bedroom, and he looked out. I stood still in the doorway.
"Why didn't you tell me in the first place?" his voice was hoarse and sounded like he was crying. "Were you afraid of me? Are you ashamed of being a fan?"
I couldn't see his face. I walked over as quietly as I could and talked in whispers, "Taehyung," I was already beside him. He didn't look at me. His head tilted down looking at the floor.
"I'm sorry I disappointed you. I'm not the same person you used to fawn over and fill your phone's gallery with. I'm not the same person who can make you smile just with a short video. I'm not the same person who can make your heart pound like crazy. I'm not the Kim Taehyung you loved. And I'm certainly not the Kim Taehyung that you should love."
My eyes were puffy, but they were filled yet again. I kneeled on the floor, my hands on my lap, my tears fell.
"Taehyung-ah!" I looked at him hoping that he would look back at me.
"I know you are not the same! I am not the same! Everyone has changed and moved on! I'm sorry I lied to you and kept my being a fan a secret! I'm sorry I hurt you! I'm sorry that I work here! I'm sorry that you ever knew me! I'm sorry!"
"And if you can't accept the past, or forgive me, I understand." I stood up and turned around, "I'll just go, pretend like we never met. No, I'll forget that we ever met."
I took a step towards the door, he grabbed my hand and pulled me on the bed. I was in between his arms looking up at him.
"You can try to forget about me, but I can't forget about you."
