You all walk back to the Underground station after that hearty afternoon tea. Layla is a few feet ahead of you, talking on the phone, and Mia grabs your arm. "So, this Jungkook. When do we get to meet him?"
"Erm, hopefully soon. He has the Autumnal Performance coming up, maybe I'll arrange something after that, during the half term holidays. You'll love him when you meet him," you squeeze her arm in return.
"Well, you look really happy right now and that only be a good thing. Also, I've noticed your ring finger is now ring-less. That must have been difficult, but well done," she says.
"Thank you. You don't think it's too soon?" you ask, anxiously.
"Too soon?! It's been five years, Anna! No, I do not think it's too soon! Has Jungkook seen it? How much does he know about Mark?" she asks.
"Everything," you respond, simply. Mia nods in comprehension.
"So you told him everything and he's still stuck around this mess?" she uses her hand to indicate to your general physical being. You laugh as she continues, "Definitely a keeper, then," she says when something dawns on her, "Hang about, was there ever really a school inspection that day? Was that him next to you during yoga? Oh my god, I barely noticed him but I did spot that he was fit and thought how jammy for you he was there. Did you ditch us that day to hang out with Jungkook?! Damn, you're a minx. I didn't even take a good look at him!" she chastises herself.
You giggle remembering that you did more than 'hang out' with Jungkook that day. Instead, you remind her that she was too busy focusing on Jason at the time. As you continue to talk about that day, you keep getting a nagging reminder in the back of your mind that Jungkook only has a few months left before he has to return to Seoul. Frowning at the thought, you decide to dismiss it temporarily. Layla suddenly turns around and says, "Guys guess what, that was Zack on the phone. You remember him, right?"
"Zack?" you both ask in unison. Exasperated with your lacking memories, Layla says, "You know, the guy who lives with his mother. Anyway he's getting his own place now cos he couldn't bear being dumped by me. I don't blame him, who could survive without this celestial being," she points to herself and continues, "Isn't that great?" she says as she claps her hands in glee.
"Yup, that's great Layla, just make sure his place does not include a whole bunch of other guys as housemates, because then that would just make him a frat boy in a frat house," you warn her, blatantly ignoring the fact that Jungkook lives in a house with a whole bunch of other guys (but they don't know that).
"And the problem is.....?" Layla asks you, innocently, but not so innocently. Some things will never change. You reach the station and part ways at the entrance. You head down one escalator while the other two head down another. Today was tiring, but a lot of fun, you reflect, once you manage to find a seat in the busy train carriage. Now back to the empty apartment where I can dream about Ju, I mean, plan school work. You smirk to yourself and then notice a not-so-ugly man looking at you bemusedly (you assume because of your goofy smile). Your instantly drop your head and put your earphones in, pretending nothing embarrassing just happened. Once you reach home, it's back to your usual routine of dumping everything on the floor en route to your bedroom. You change into your night clothes and grab some leftovers from the kitchen to enjoy on the sofa. You wonder how to occupy yourself while eating, and decide to grab the laptop and search for 'Jungkook', 'chocolate balls', 'noodles', 'Jin' on the internet. That very specific search revealed very specific results. You laugh out loud at the clip of Jungkook pranking poor Jin. You're shocked at how innocently Jungkook gives him the noodles and lets Jin assume that they're mushrooms. This Jungkook is the guy I'm seeing? I should prank him back on Jin's behalf. You laugh again when you hear Jin ranting. That phone alarm must do a great job of waking up JK.
You giggle shamelessly at the cuteness of Jungkook's antics. That familiar broad smile and those scrunched up eyes are only a fraction of his charm. Noticing the time, you realise that he should be done with his first day of hiking by now so you send him a text to check in.
/// JK! What you doing? Set up camp for the night yet? ///
You can see that he's read your message and is now typing. It's about five minutes of 'Jungkook is typing' before his response actually comes through.
/// OMG! I'm sooooooo tired!!!!! But holy shit, that was fricking brilliant!!! I was zzz in the van most of the way, but when we got there, the view was amazing! We hiked for about 1 hr, then went to an adrenaline junkie activity centre – I did the solo zipline and free-style bungee jump....ahhhh, that was so exciting, I thought I was gonna pee in my pants. It was so much fun, I so wanna take you there Noona!
We're at a camping site now, put up the tents, made a fire and toasted marshmallows. Then one of the guys brought out his guitar for a sing-along, but I didn't really know the songs 😕
What did you do today? ///You quickly text back,
/// Well my day was equally exciting and as adrenaline filled. I went for afternoon tea with the girls and then came home. Btw we need to talk about the noodle incident with Jin 😉
Miss you, see you tomorrow? ///He replies,
/// Erm, we have diff definitions of 'exciting', Noona........oh hey, my autocorrect put fricking and not fricking ///
/// wtf, I mean fudging ///
/// oh for frick's sake ///
/// Fudge this.
I'm back about 4pm tmrw. I think the guys r going to their parents to do their laundry. Do u wanna come over 2 mine? ///You reply,
/// sounds good, how about 5pm? Maybe you'll need me to help with your laundry too, lol ///Jungkook responds at lightning speed,
/// er, Noona......why do you say that? ///You end with,
/// No reason, but let's just say I had time to watch some Bon Voyage videos 😝 See you tomorrow ///
