The Dream

Chapter 10

"What do u mean they are your parents Alexis? I thought you lived with your aunt? Oh. Oh my. Oh no!"
He just kept mumbling to himself as if he was trying to put together some sort of a puzzle and he found a piece of it. I mean what was seriously going on here?
First the voice in my dream. And now my parents' picture?? Who was this crazy stranger I just met a few days ago? What does he know?

My mind was racing so wild I didn't know if I could withhold all of this!
"Aaron. I would really love an explanation any time now!"

"Alexis,Where were you before you came to your aunt?"

" I was adopted by my foster parents. Why?" Okay..Where was this really going?

"Because you were adopted. Which means you were in an orphanage. Do you have any idea which orphanage you might have been in before you were adopted?" He seemed to be asking with so much of twinkle in his eyes that it looked like he was actually excited about something.

"Of course! That's easy! When I was trying to do research on my parents I went there. It's called The Hope Orphanage. Now will you please tell me what is going on Aaron??"

"Alexis!!!.....I'm from the same orphanage......
You were the small girl who I used to play with. Same blue eyes! Aha! That's why I was so drawn to them! It was like déjà vu to me! I waited and waited and waited for you to come back but you never did.
After years of research...I found out that these people here in the picture were your parents. I could never find out about mine. It was all I had left of you so I had to put it up to remind me of you."
He said all in one breath. But wait?!

"Wait then! They are not your real parents downstairs? Oh my god! You got such amazing foster parents!! I had really cruel ones. You guys all seemed to be a happy family that I can't believe all of this! Woww!!! This is big news to me!!!!!"
I started shouting out with joy! This was honestly amazing to hear.

"Aaron! Alexis! Come down and join us for dinner please!"
Shouted Aaron's mother....well his foster mother. And the idea of having dinner with a whole family thrilled me! It was like a dream come true. I always wanted to experience how family dinners were though I wasn't a part of the family!

I felt so much more connected to Aaron now and I felt so glad that I could reconnect with someone from my orphanage. During dinner I asked when Aaron was adopted and his parents told me they adopted him when he was twelve. That was only like six years ago. I kinda felt sad that he was all alone for so many years.
But this thought was always pondering inside of my head.
Why was he looking for me so bad? And how come he couldn't find his own parents?
I decided to take everything one step at a time.

"Mom,dad...Alexis here was from my orphanage. Remember I used to describe this young girl who I always used to play with?"
And before he even finished the sentence it was like his parents and sister understood. They started shouting and cheering and shooting me with questions.
So instead I ended up telling my whole story and it felt so nice to be talking to a whole group of nice people that I was wondering where they were my whole life!

"Well Alexis the people who adopted you seemed to be really mean people. I'm glad you found your aunt! Have you tried talking to her about what really happened to your parents? Maybe that will life off a huge weight off your shoulders."
Wow! Aaron's mom really understood me.
"No Mrs. Cross..."
"Oh no Alexis! I'm not Mrs. Cross. I'm Amanda Moyer. And my husband here is Steve Moyer. And this is my daughter Sarah Moyer! We weren't allowed to change Aaron's last name once we took him in. It was a part of the deal we wouldn't understand why. Maybe his parents wanted him to keep his last name with him."
Moyer!?
A bell was ringing in my mind. What was with the Moyer's adopting me and Aaron?
