Chapter 43

Danielle's POV:

"Yes mum. Ok mum. Yes mum. Yes. Got it" I mumble repeatedly as my mum decides to give me list of dos and don'ts for this trip.

"Mum it'll be fine, I'm with everyone" I smile brightly.

"Ok that's me done" mum says as she looks at dad expectedly but he returns a blank look.

"What?" He asks.

"This is when you tell her that she can't stay up too late, can't drink and make sure she behaves" mum gives an example.

"Oh right ok...erm behave" dad says with an attempt of strictness.

Mum sighs as she rolls her eyes.

"Take care of my daughter and make sure you kids don't get in any trouble there, I'm not going to drive over and bail you out" dad says as to Mason.

"Bye mum and dad" I say excitedly running out the door.

"Good luck and call us" mum screams behind me.

"We'll go get the rest first" Mason says as I agree and put my bag in the back.

Awkward still between us? Yup! And I've tried fixing what I've messed up but he's being stubborn...I'm normally the stubborn one.

Mason drops me off outside the driving test exam area.

Yes today is my driving test and the day we leave so as soon as the test is done, I'll receive nothing but a tan and hopefully a smile if I pass.

"Good luck" Mason says as I smile nervously "just go in with a clear mind and you'll pass don't worry" he says.

"Thanks" I reply "I'll meet you all at yours" I say turning and walking in.

Clear mind? How can I go in with a clear mind when I keep thinking about how close yet far away we feel?

Nikki’s POV:

“So we’re just waiting for Danni and then we’ll be off” Amy announces.

“According to the internet and what I’ve heard Drate Wood is pretty cool” I say as Amy looks at the pictures on my phone.

“I passed” we all hear a cheer as we look over at Danni and we all run in for a group hug.

“Okayyy” I say breaking out of the hug “who’s in which car?” I ask.

“I’m driving my baby” Mason says.

“Do you want to drive?” Enrique asks Danni.

“Seriously?” she asks shocked “you’re going to let me drive your Mercedes?”

“Why not?” he says as he throws the keys to her “nice” she nods.

“But I call shotgun” he calls.

We finally decided that it would be Jacob and Amy in Mason’s Convertible because he also had most of our luggage and Alex and I in Enrique’s car with Danni driving.

The road to Drate Wood was empty like literally no cars around, just us so Danni and Mason ended up racing obviously not passing the speeding limit but they kept smirking at each other every time one of them got the lead.

A dubstep beat started playing on the radio and I decided to stand up and the wind flowed through my hair and hit my face as I screamed.

I signalled to Amy to stand up in Mason’s car and she did as Danni turned the volume up and we all screamed.
