Days passed by as I waited. Jacob hadn't messaged me at all. Kyle came by once in awhile to keep me company or to bring me some food. I was in no mood to cook without someone such as Jacob to motivate me. I took more photos each day and put them in a box. I went to the kitchen to go make myself some hot chocolate with my new Tassimo machine. I filled the water tank with fresh hot water. I placed a Cadbury chocolate disk inside the machine and placed my Minnie Mouse cup under it. I watched as the chocolate and water filled the cup. Once the machine was done, I got milk from the fridge and poured it in the hot chocolate to make it nice and thick.
As a finishing touch, I put whipped cream on the top and topped it with Nesquick chocolate sauce and marshmallows. I walked upstairs carefully holding the cup in hand, being cautious to not spill anything. I walked inside my bedroom and closed the door. I placed the cup on my night stand and crawled onto my bed.
Kyle had given me this old mirror his parents kept in the basement of their house. I stared at it intensely, gazing at the features of my face. My hair was up in a messy bun, and I was wearing a SpiderMan sweater and maroon basketball shorts. My light pink rose earrings brought out my features very well. I scooted closer to the mirror, so I was in the middle of the bed. I took out my camera and focused it on the mirror. I took a picture and looked at it.
Artsy.
I stared out my window, watching the sun rise. It was about 6:30 AM. I wasn't sure why I was up that early, but I just was. I rested my head onto my pillow and stared at the ceiling.
First day of February. 79 more days until Jacob and them come back. April 20.
I sighed sadly and watched as the shadows from outside my window passed by me. Sunday. School tomorrow. I would only have Kyle. My phone buzzed beside me and I sat up to grab it.
From Kate:
We're sorry we didn't message you. Darien can track our position if we send you anything. He can know your area where you get a message from another destination. We need him to know where we are at the moment, so this was my only chance to message you. We're all fine. We love and miss you, Kyle as well.
I smiled slightly, understanding they needed to keep low key. My phone buzzed again.
I love you to infinity and beyond, cutie. -Polar Bear
My heart instantly warmed. I didn't want to reply because I thought that might not be a good idea, but they knew I read the message so it was fine I guess.
---The Next Day---
Me and Kyle decided to walk to school this time as a work out. Took us about 20 minutes, not bad. I know what you're thinking. Dumb as hell to walk to school in this cold weather.
When we walked in, people were crowding around the area where my locker was. Great, just great. Me and Kyle went over to see what all the commotion was about. Kyle tapped on a guy's shoulder and asked what was happening.
"We're trying to break into Rose's lo--" his eyes turned to me and quickly widened.
"Abort missi-""
"We opened it!" Someone from the crowd yelled. I tried pushing through. When I got to my locker, all my books, papers, photos, anything in my locker was either torn, stolen or just ruined. I looked to the resource of this whole shenanigan. My eyes landed on the blondie I got into a fight with from the first day of school. Her smirk was cold and evil. She held a wrench in her hands, tightening her grip on it.
