Chapter 7
Alix's POV
School finally got back to normal, Nothing much happened. Ryan and I argued and teased, and kissed... and other things, but nothing real drastic. Lance and Paul were still completely oblivious to the fact that they practically flirted more than Ryan and I did- which was quite a lot. Some nights we would all get together and just hung out... we studied a lot, too. But not school subjects. We learned spells. Ryan got a kick out of all Lance's herbs. Ryan joked that Lance wasn't drunk when he gave lap dances- he just knew the right herbs.
The only thing that ruined our good times was Kate. No, we still don't like each other. She still hadn't apologized to me or Ryan. But whatever!
It was Winter Break. While nearly everyone went home for the holidays, I was thankful that Alice stayed behind to keep me company. Lance stayed too, but that was because his parents were on vacation and he was an only child, like me. He didn't stop by much though, I'd guess that he had other friends to hang with too.
One day Alice finally had enough of sitting around, doing nothing. She sat up from the floor (which I really didn't know why she just didn't use the other beanie-bag, but she claimed it was more comfortable. I didn't see her reasoning, honestly) and snatched my book away from me. Before I could say anything Alice interjected.
"We need to get out of here! Shop. I need to shop. I'm gunna go crazy."
I laughed, holding my hands up, "Okay, All right. How do you propose we go shopping?"
She thought, plopping back on the floor then springing up again. "Lance can call Paul! You know paul will come speeding! They are so cute together."
"Yeah, too bad they don't realize they're together." I teased.
"Yet!" Alice yelled in a frustrated tone.
"Well, call Lance then and get him on board with you plan- without the 'So cute together part,' though. Alice looked at me, then nodded.
The next thing I knew, Paul was driving us in the snow to McDonald's. Lance was in the passenger seat, and Ryan was smooshed between Alice and I in the back.
"AHh, I should've eaten first," Alice complained, clutching her stomach. "Sooo hungryyy."
Paul sighed and glanced back in the rear veiw mirror accordingly. "We're almost there."
Lance was poking at the dials for the radio, not really turning it on. "Paul, your music is lame..."
I watched as the aforementioned teen rolled his hazel eyes through the reflective glass above his head and laughed a bit to myself. Lance took his time on picking a station, but once he did, he accidentally blasted it, and everyone jumped. Paul veered off the road to a little bit; it was a good thing no one else was driving on this, since it was a back road, but the conditions were terrible.
Lance laughed heasitantly, hands shaking as he turned the volume down, glancing at Paul every other second. "I- I'm sorry."
"We're fine," I promised, echoing Lance's shaky laugh.
"You almost killed us!"Alice was freaking out.
Ryan smirked, "That could've turned out way worse." Ryan, tried to soothe Alice.
"What do you mean worse? I hit my head! I'm going to have a giant egg!" The car was nearly silent, before we all cracked up. "Watch the road!" Alice shouted when Paul glanced in his rear view mirror at us. His eyes automatically shot back to the icy road ahead of us without commenting. Lance mumbled his apologies over and over with his head down and his dark hair falling in his eyes. He was being rather depressing, before there was a sudden flurry of movement as he heard one of his and Alice's favorite songs come on the radio, "For Your Entertainment," by Adam Lambert, and he turned it up, but not too much.
