Don't give up on me

Chapter 3

We came inside the room for my lab. He was lying under the couch. I was smiling at how cute it was looking. I picked it up in my arms.

" Hey Buddy. You missed me. " I said to my lab.

" You named it Buddy?" Tae asked. I nodded.

" This is my buddy from now. So buddy is it's name. " I said.

" Last night you said something about his living years. What was that? I want to know more. " he said.

" You know usually dogs don't live long. They are the companions who leaves fast. I don't really know about other types of dogs. But a Labrador can live for 15-20 years maximum after it's birth. I like the Labrador puppy more than other. So I wanted it on my 21st birthday. " I said.

" What has his living years got to do with you? " he asked.

" Because patient with CF can live till they're 37-40 years. Should I explain more? " I asked.

" No. I got it. " he said.

" Buddy, let's see who wins to leave the world first. " I said.

" Why do you always think pessimistic? " he asked.

" What will I get thinking optimistic? I'm just excepting the reality. I won't fall down begging to my misfortune for my life. If this is what it is then I'm ready. " I said.

" Don't you truly want to LIVE your life? " he asked emphasizing on live.

" I'm living my life. I'm doing all that I can before I die. But the thing is overdoing anything can make the next moment my last moment. " I said.

" Don't you have dreams of falling in love getting married and having kids like other girls? " he asked.

" I wish I was like other girls. But I'm not. So no. " I said.

" You are... " he was saying but I cut him off.

" We just met and I almost shared my half life with you. You seem very curious about me. Stop right here. Next time we meet just pretend we casually know each other. Nothing more. " I said.

" But-" he was again cut off but by his parents.

" Tae, we have to leave now. Bye Amreen. " Mrs Kim said.

" Thanks for coming and sorry for before. " I said.

" It happens. Take care. " Mrs Kim said sweetly. I smiled at her. Tae looked at me and smiled. Then they left the room. I put buddy on his bed and went back to my room. But Sara came with the meds. I had them and went to my bed. Before sleeping I texted jimin.

Me: hi chimchim.

Jimin: hi. Tae and his family left?

Me: yes. They left a while back.

Jimin: oh. He was asking me about u last night.

Me: just tell him not to be so curious about me. He asked a lot of things today. I shared somethings. But he shouldn't get personal. Is he my close friend!? No right. Tell him to stay away from me.

Jimin: I'll tell him. Don't worry.

Me: okay. Goodnight chimchim.

Jimin: goodnight minmin.

I kept my phone aside and went to sleep.

**morning**

I woke up and did my morning routine. Today is weekend. I have to go to the hospital for check up. I went downstairs to have breakfast.

" Good morning. " I greeted.

" Good morning. " dad greeted back.

" Good morning sis. " Yoongi said from the living room. Today is weekend so he's home.

" Sara, be ready on time. After check up I'll go to my boutique. " I said.

" Report to me after check up. " mom said to Sara.

" Yes ma'am. " Sara replied.

After breakfast I took a shower and got ready. I put on my mask. I have to wear mask because I don't know if anyone is having cold around me. They can get attacked by my bacteria.

*at the hospital*

I'm done with the check up. The doctor told me that my lungs are now 33% working. To live a few more years I need to get lungs transplanted. This won't make a huge difference. Maybe I can live for more 5 years. Dr. Lee has been treating me since. After analyzing me and Sara the reports she prescribed new medicines. She even came to see me out to the lift.

" Thanks Dr. Lee. We can go from here. " I said.

" I know. Wear your mask. " Dr. Lee said.

" Oh. I forgot. What would I do without you? " I said grinning.

" You'd die. " Dr. Lee said sarcastically and I laughed out loud.

" I'm dying anyways. " I said still laughing.

" Amreen? " jimin called me.

" Hey. You got check up? " I asked. Jimin even comes to Dr Lee. Actually he suggested Dr Lee to my dad.

" Keep six feet. " Dr Lee ordered.

" We are standing more than six feet away. " jimin said.

" I said as a reminder because I'm leaving. " Dr Lee said and left back to her cabin.

" So you had check up? " I asked again.

" Yes. I was standing in the line to buy my meds. " jimin said. I was looking at him putting my eyebrows higher. Because that's not the answer I wanted.

" Tell me about reports. Dumb. " I said.

" 37% working. " jimin said.

" Jimin, I got the meds. " Tae came out of the blue. I was surprised seeing him. Even Tae was surprised seeing me.

" Good. Amreen, what's your report? " jimin asked.

" Well... Mine is 33% working. Dr Lee said if should get my lung transplanted. " I said.

" She said that to me as well. What will happen with that? " jimin asked to himself.

" She said 5 more years. But doesn't make a difference. " I said.

" How does it not make difference? 5 more years. " Tae said in between.

" 5 years with this new lungs you think we'll live well? No. Because during this time our pancreas, digestive system, liver and some organs will be damaged almost completely. Maybe lungs will be okay. But nothing else will be okay. So what's the point?" I explained. Jimin nodded. He knows this well.
" Doctors say this to give us hope. At best we'll be able to breath without this oxygen tube. Other than that everything will be same."

" We've been wearing the oxygen tube for like 10 years now. We are used to it. Without this it will feel weird. " jimin added to me.

" I see. " Tae expressed.

" Just waste of time, energy and money with no hope. " I said.
" We're just breathing borrowed air. Whats so bad about it? " I asked to myself.

" Nothing bad. It's better than the polluted air normal people breath. " jimin said. We smiled at each other and high fived in the air from afar.

" Let's go Amreen." Sara said coming back. I forgot to say Sara went to take meds.

" Yeah. Bye guys. " I bid bye

" Bye. "

Me and jimin can't go in the same lift so me and Sara left before. I drove back to home to drop Sara. After that I went to my boutique.

I was working when my assistant came to me saying someone wanted to  meet me and he is waiting outside. I went to see who it is to be shocked.
