Scarlett Curtis:

The gang and I are standing in Mikey's living room that is beyond crowded. Some family that we have seen before and even family that we just met today are here in the house. His mother and her new annoying family are here, making conversations with everyone. People brought food and things for Mikey's dad and brother but they didn't seem too happy.

I'm surprised the boys actually came to Mikey's. Of course, they would go to the funeral for Avery, Lizzie, and I but I didn't think they would hang around afterward. Matt walks over to us after leaving the dining room, where his awful mother stands with her demonic stepchildren.

"I got some things for ya," Matt says to me making me look at him in confusion. "Actually for you and the girls."

I nod my head and turn to Darry, who just nods at me to go. Avery and Lizzie walk closer to us, all of us expecting him to pull something out of his pocket but instead, he starts walking toward the stairs.

I gulp as I realize we're going to Mikey's room, I don't think I can take being in there without him. As I follow Matt up the stairs, I feel that familiar stare. I turn my head toward the gang to see Dally staring at me once again. I smile at him, which makes him smile back before we're up in the upstairs hallway.

I take a deep breath before Matt swings the door open. Everything is exactly the same, it even still smells like Mikey. The posters are still covering most of the walls, his record player sits in the corner of his room, pictures of the four of us still sit beside his bed.

"I wanted you guys to take things before my mom comes up here and tries to take stuff even though she left us," Matt says as he rolls his eyes and opens Mikey's closet. He reaches in and pulls out a camo jacket that Mikey used to wear all the time.

"I thought you would like this, Scar," he says with a smile and tosses the jacket to me. I catch it with ease and slip it on with a smile. Matt sits down on Mikey's bed which makes me and the girls sit down next to him. It feels weird being in here without Mikey.

"I also want to give you guys these," Matt says as he pulls three necklaces out of his pocket. Mikey always wore three necklaces at all times, a dog tag, a necklace with a cross, and a simple gold chain. He thought it made him look tough.

"I think Scar should get the chain," Avery says and Lizzie nods her head in agreement. Mikey loved that gold chain, that was his favorite.

"Are you sure?" I ask as Matt hands me over the gold chain. I play with it in my hands, realizing he died wearing this. I shiver at the thought as Lizzie takes the chain from me and puts it around my neck. I smile as she clips it and lets it go.

"You were Mikey's favorite person," Lizzie says with a smile that makes my heartache. "you should wear it."

I look down at the chain and play with it between my fingers. Wearing his favorite jacket and his favorite chain made me emotional. I stand from the bed quickly and start to slowly walk around the room, looking around as if I'm trying to remember every detail.

"We're going to go see the gang," Avery says as she stands up from the bed, Lizzie doing the same. I glance over and see the dog tag hanging from Avery's neck and the cross necklace hanging from Lizzie's. I nod slowly at them and watch them leave the room. I didn't want to leave just yet.

"I found something the other day," Matt spoke up, making me turn to face him. He stands up and walks over to me. He holds his hand out, revealing a ring. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion as he places it in the palm of my hand.

I play with the silver ring that Matt found. It was nothing crazy or expensive but it was still beautiful. It has a small heart shape and it looks oddly familiar. I look closer and feel the color drain from my face when I notice the ring.

"Mikey and I saw this ring in a pawn shop a few weeks ago," I admit as I look back up at Matt, who was staring at me with a smile. "I told him that it was pretty, reminded me of a ring my mom used to wear when I was a kid. It was way too much for me to buy and I couldn't risk gettin' thrown in the cooler for shoplifting.

Matt laughs as he nods his head, "Mikey told me about it and he also told me he stole it."

"Why?" I ask with furrowed brows.

"You liked it, he stole it," Matt says as if it was obvious, making me smile. "he was going to surprise you with it eventually, said he was waiting for the perfect time."

"I miss him," I admit as I slip the ring on my left ring finger. I felt Matt wrap an arm around me and pull me closer to his body.

"Me too, kid," He admits as he places a kiss on my head. I sniffle and wipe my eyes before I let any other tears escape my eyes. The two of us start to walk out of his room and down the stairs. I wipe my eyes again to make sure they are dry.

The gang is still exactly where we left them and the house is loud with voices. I sigh to myself as I glance over at the dining room where Bob and Cherry stand speaking with Ashley and Jacob. My fists bawl up and my body fills with anger. They have a lot of nerve showing up here, especially with what he did.

"You alright?" I look up to see Dally staring down at me. I smile up at him, happy that he is somewhat warming up to me. Even though we have known each other for so long, we were never close but ever since Mikey passed we've been getting closer. It's nice.

"I'll be fine," I say with a nod. He nods back at me and wraps an arm around my shoulders and directs me out of the house, the gang following close behind.
