Scarlett Curtis:

The second I walk into the church, all eyes are on me. I don't know if it's because they know how close I was to Mikey, because I brought in a huge group of very loud boys, or because Dallas Winston's arm is wrapped tightly around my waist. It's probably the third option since most of the girl's here are giving me dirty looks or look shocked.

There's a lot of people here but that was expected, I knew many people would show. People loved Mikey, looked up to him, thought he was an amazing person, which he was. They didn't even care that he was a greaser, he just had a good heart.

I'm shocked to see Tim, Curly, and Angela Shepard sitting in a row in the middle of the church but at the same time I'm not. We were never close with them but we always had each other's back. Mikey and Curly used to hang around each other a lot, so much that Mikey developed a crush on his sister. Mikey and Angela only dated for a little bit, they never really went steady.

Angela turns around and makes eye contact with me, her features breaking out into a sad smile when she sees me. She stands up, climbs over her brother, and walks down the isle toward me. She engulfs me in a huge hug and it takes me a second to hug her back. As I said, we were never close but she was once Mikey's girl and she's real sweet, so I accept the hug.

"How ya feelin'?" She asks as we pull away from each other. All of the boys walk off and take a seat in the row behind Mikey's imitate family. Avery and Lizzie stay behind as they stand off to the side.

"I'm alright," I lie with a soft sigh. I don't really feel like talking about my feelings right now, especially since I'm getting ready to tell all of these people how much Mikey meant to me.

"I just can't believe this happened," She says with a sigh as she shakes her head. I nod my head in agreement. She's right, I don't think anyone expected a guy like Mikey would have a fate like that. I also thought I would never have to be saying goodbye for good so I guess we're all pretty shaken up.

"Yeah, Mikey ain't deserve what happened to him," I admit with a small nod. She nods her head back and rubs my arm comfortingly.

"If you ever need anything, I got ya," She says with a small smile. "We ain't all the close but I care for ya."

"Thanks, Angela," I say as I lean in and give her another hug, which she instantly returns. "I appreciate it."

She nods with a soft smile before she turns and makes her way back to her brothers. I sigh as I watch her walk off, feeling Avery and Lizzie coming closer to me. My eyes wander over to Mikey's family that is sitting in the very front row, which is completely full.

"I'm dreading havin' to talk them," I admit in a whisper as Avery wraps her arm around my waist and lays her head on my shoulder.

"Us too," She says honestly. "We haven't even seen Mikey's mom since we were like eleven."

"Yeah, I know," I say back quietly.

Mikey had a not so shitty childhood, grew up with his older brother and had two parents who loved him. They might have not had that much money but they were happy. When we were eleven, MIkey's mom left them. One day she randomly filed for divorce and left without an explanation.

They later found out what happened, she left them for another family. She moved in with a rich man that lived on the West Side who had two kids already, a boy and a girl. They were around our age so we were forced to see them in school, which Mikey hated. He felt betrayed that his mom left him and his family for another, and we never blamed him for it.

His mom went on to have three more kids with the rich man she married, two twin girls and a boy. Mikey never bothered with them, never went to visit them, and never even spoke to them. His mom tried for the first year to talk to Mikey and Matt but after she realized that they didn't want anything to do with her and wanted her out of their lives, she stopped trying.
