Students filled the cafeteria for lunch while I waited for Riley and Johnny in our usual spot.
After a while of eating and chatting, Johnny left to use the restroom.
I looked down at my phone, checking Instagram and Snapchat.
"Hey y/n," I looked up at the unfamiliar voice.
A student who I've heard of, but never talked to, was standing next to me. His hands were stuffed in his pockets, his hair in a small ponytail.
"Hi," I said awkwardly, turning my body towards him while setting my phone down, giving him my full attention. "Wooyoung right?" I asked.
He smiled and nodded. "Nice to meet you, I just thought I'd chat you up. Heard you were friends with Hongjoong." I nodded.
"I've heard a lot about you."
Something about the way he said it sent shivers down my spine. His intense eye contact quickly shifted as Johnny came marching over, clearly pissed off.
He stepped in front of me protectively before speaking in a cold tone. "What do you want?"
Wooyoung seemed unphased, rather bored.
"I was just trying to have a nice conversation. Any friend of my leader is a friend of mine," he peeked his head around Johnny's shoulder and gave me a friendly wink. I smiled at him before Johnny broke our eye contact.
"Back off." Johnny hissed. "Johnny why are you acting like this he didn't do anything!" I stood up glaring at him.
"Y/n, not right now," he shrugged me off. Two of his friends, Taeyong and Jaehyun, ran over, standing next to him.
"Johnny, you need to tell me what the hell is going on."
Wooyoung looked over to me again, "Ah, I see. You haven't told her yet." Johnny glared at him. "Some friend you are." Wooyoung chuckled before Hongjoong ran up and pulled Wooyoung back. "Don't cross the line." I heard him whisper. Wooyoung looked at me one last time before turning on his heel and walking back to his group.
"I'm sorry about that." Hongjoong bowed to Taeyong specifically, even though it was probably gestured to all of us. He then turned around and followed Wooyoung.
Taeyong gave Johnny's shoulder a light squeeze before walking away, Jaehyun following close behind him.
"Johnny you have some serious explaining to do."
Johnny sighed, "Y/n..." I cut him off, "you're going to explain yourself or I'm not talking to you at all."
There was a painful silence, "I wouldn't ignore her if I were you." Riley spoke up.
"Fine, meet me at the park near my apartment after school. I'll tell you there." He said before grabbing his bag and walking out of the cafeteria.
I huffed and sat down next to Riley, she rubbed my back. "Sorry about all that." I huffed.
She shrugged. "I think I'm used to it by now, Johnny carries a lot of drama." She laughed.
"So what do you think he's gonna tell you?" I shrugged at Riley's question. "I'm not really sure."
"C'mon let ur imagination play with it a little!" She nudged my shoulder. "They're clearly rivals of some sort, what if they're like... gangs or something? Like the outsiders."
I chuckled. "I doubt this is anything like the outsiders." She put her hand down in front of me, "wanna bet money on it?" I laughed, "No!" She laughed with me stuffing a fry in my mouth.
