I waited at the park, just like he told me to. I sat down on a bench that was shaded by a big tree, rabbits and squirrels filling the big field as the nice breeze blew through the area.

"Hey," I heard Johnny speak. I patted the spot next to me, signaling for him to sit down. He did, and there was nothing but silence for the next few minutes while he tried to figure out the words to say.

"I think the best way I can explain this is to just say it straight up," I nodded, turning to look at him. "My friend group, the people I hang out with. We're... we're kinda like a gang." He said. My brows furrowed.

"A gang?" He nodded. "So what you like... rob gas stations and put holes in peoples car tires?" He chuckled. "No, there's a little more to it than that. I guess you could call it a mafia." I thought for a second before standing up and glaring at him.

"Johnny... what the fuck?" He sighed. "What the hell do you mean mafia?"

"This is why I didn't want to tell you, it's too complicated." He rubbed his eyes before also standing to meet my gaze.

"Johnny, what do you do?" he walked over to me and put his hands on my shoulders.

"Y/n, I can't tell you that. That's all classified information." I tried to pull away from him but he held onto me. "Y/n listen to me. San, Wooyoung, they are part of a gang too. They're dangerous, that's why I don't want you communicating with them." I could see the sincerity in his eyes. He's been trying to protect me this entire time. "And I don't like that Hongjoong guy either."

I tilted my head, "why, what did he do?"

He released my shoulders, looking down for a second before looking back up at me. "He's their leader." I felt my heart drop, this was all too confusing.

"How are they dangerous?" Johnny's eyes shifted past me, as if he was trying to avoid answering the question.

"They've killed people, Y/n. Our group and their group are not on good terms. Because you are friends with me and other members in our group..." he hesitated, "it wouldn't surprise me if they wanted to use you to get under our skin."

I took a second to process everything I was hearing. "I don't wanna scare you, that's not my intention at all. I just want to keep you safe, that's all I've ever wanted to do." I nodded.

He took my hands into his and looked me in the eyes, "do you trust me?" He asked. I nodded before he hugged me tightly. "Just promise me you'll be wary." I hugged him back. "Okay, I will."

After a bit, we pulled apart.

"You okay?" He asked. I nodded. "Yeah I'm fine, I just need some time to myself for a bit." He nodded. "Alright, text me when you get home alright?" I nodded. "Oh, and uh... y/n," I looked up at him. "Don't tell anyone about this."

"I won't."

And with that, he left.

I sat there on my own to think about all that was said. I wanted to hit myself for being involved in all of this in the first place.

I felt a sudden presence. I looked over and saw that San was sitting right next to me, staring off into the field. I jumped, almost gasping at the slight jump scare. I didn't even see him coming. It was like he appeared out of nowhere.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He mumbled, still looking off into the distance.

I sat there uncomfortably. How could I not? I was just told this guy, and the rest of his friends were murderers.

"He's lying to you." He said, breaking the awkward silence. I scoffed. But then he looked at me. His eyes were like Johnny's, sincere, but even more so. "He's just trying to gain your trust so he and his group can have you all to themselves." He trailed off watching a squirrel run through the branches of the tree behind us.

"And why should I believe that?" He huffed a small laugh, looking at me again. "I didn't think you would, but it's better for you to have it on your mind so you're a bit more mentally prepared for when he hurts you."

I didn't even have time to react before he stood up, "Anyway it's not my position to tell you such a thing anyway. Just thought you should know." He smiled at me, "Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be on my way." He bowed before leaving.

Great, now I was stuck to dwell on another thing. I sighed and decided I would start heading home.
