"Did you bring the shopping list, Tangtang?" Shuxin turned to Xiaotang and asked.
"I did," Xiaotang said as she pulled a shopping cart out from a row of dozens.
"Well, where is it then?" Shuxin lifted a skeptical eyebrow.
"Here," Xiaotang handed her lover the piece of paper.
Shuxin skimmed through the list. The list was quite long. Why? Well, Shuxin hasn't been home for some time. This morning just as she was about to cook some breakfast did she find out that Xiaotang didn't do the groceries at all. So Shuxin made the CEO write a list of things they needed and forced her to take along with her to do the groceries.
(That was because Xiaotang was too busy picking out the ring for Shuxin, but Xiaotang ain't gonna tell her that. The CEO has a surprise in mind coming soon.)
"It says here that we need rice, too?" Shuxin cocked a brow at Xiaotang.
"Yep."
"You know I'm not carrying the sack, right? You're doing it."
"Sure thing, baobei."
The couple strolled along the vegetables section. Shuxin slowly read the list out loud.
"Cucumbers, carrots, eggplants and toma- Wait, what are tomalocs?" she looked at Xiaotang in question.
"Lemme see," Xiaotang grabbed sheet of paper and then frowned. "Well I don't see tomalocs anywhere."
"It's right here!" Shuxin pointed at the word.
Xiaotang read what it said and then turned to Shuxin. Her face began to twist into a silly grin.
"It's tomatoes, Shuxin."
"What?!"
"Here, baobei. T-O-M-A-T-O-E-S, tomatoes. Sorry, my English handwriting is bad, but my Chinese handwriting is worse."
Annoyed, Shuxin threw the list back to Xiaotang and stomped off to go get the tomatoes.
"What happened, baobei?" Xiaotang asked, confused.
"You read your own crappy handwriting, you big dummy!" the actress childishly pouted.
Xiaotang laughed at her girlfriend's actions. She then looked at the crumpled list.
"Potatoes, potatoes," she muttered to herself as she pushed the cart along. "We need potatoes."
She chanted her little potato mantra as she caught up with Shuxin. Shuxin was inspecting the watermelons. Xiaotang sneaked up behind her girlfriend and looked over her shoulder.
"Potatoes, potatoes. We need potatoes," she muttered. "Potatoes, potatoes. We need potatoes."
Shuxin annoyedly glared at her girlfriend. She then put a finger on Xiaotang's moving lips, effectively silencing her.
"Shush," Shuxin said. "You sound like Lin Fan and it's creepy. Did you join her potato cult?"
