Chengxuan couldn't believe that Kiki asked her to help with Shaking's surprise birthday party. It was a really big party, too. All the idols she adores will be there: Shangguan Xiai, Anqi, Lu Keran, just to name a few.
But she really didn't expect to see her there too.
Currently, Chengxuan was perched on top of a chair, hanging up a big banner that said "Happy Birthday!". She wiped the sweat off of her brows with the back of her hand. Decorating the living room took more effort then she thought it would.
"Tired already?" Yu Yan came to her daughter.
"Nope!" Chengxuan chirped. "It's really fun!"
Just as the mother-daughter duo was chatting, the doorbell rang.
"I'll go get it!" Anqi said as she got up from eating mala xiangguo.
Chengxuan heard the front door being opened. She heard light footsteps as the mystery person took their shoes off. Laughter came from down the hall as Xiai, Kiki, and Diamond walked into the living room.
"Oh, Wei Chen!" Kiki smiled. "You're here! Where's the cake?"
Chengxuan almost fell off of the chair.
Wei Chen as in Vicky Wei Chen is here?!
"Here!" said Wei Chen as she handed the cake to Kiki. "I had to hold it the whole way here you know. I didn't want the icing to be ruined."
Kiki and Wei Chen chatted happily. On the other hand, Chengxuan was acting like a duck with its tail on fire. Diamond and Yu Yan looked at their daughter in concern.
"Chengxuan? Baobei?" Yu Yan put a hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah... No," Chengxuan muttered.
Diamond looked at her daughter and then at Wei Chen. And then she looked back at her daughter. If you listen closely, you could even hear the gears turning in Diamond's head. But with Diamond's ingenious lawyer brain, it didn't take too long to put two and two together. Yu Yan noticed what Diamond was doing and squinted at Wei Chen, trying to figure out who the hell she was.

"Chengxuan, is there any chance that the upperclassman from school that you have a crush on is Wei Chen?" the lawyer smirked knowingly.
The girl let out an indignant squeak and hid her cherry-red face in her hands. Yu Yan and Diamond laughed at their daughter's antics.
"Why don't you go talk to her?" Yu Yan encouraged. "She seems nice and all."
"I can't!" Chengxuan waved her hands. "W-We barely even know each other and we don't really belong in the same crowds and I don't even talk to her that much and I-"
"Woah, woah, woah," Diamond said as she held Chengxuan's shoulders. "Deep breaths, baobei. Deep breaths."
Chengxuan wheezed, face red and eyes teary. Good thing Wei Chen had followed Kiki out if the room or else she would have seen the terrifyingly unattractive situation that Chengxuan was in right now. Getting her shit together, Chengxuan finally calmed down.
